Most people including myself think Pettigrew has Mr. Basketball wrapped up. However what would Walls have to do to make it a close vote. If (and this is a big if) Scott went undefeated and won the State Championship I think I would be hard to vote against Walls.

Scott Co. already has 1 loss - to Arlington Country Day. For Walls to make a run to beat Pettigrew (and I think it might be a closer race than some) - Matt needs to lead his team to the State Tournament and have at least 2 really good games once there. If E-town were to get put out early in the district or regional then it would open the door for Walls.

I've not seen any shooting percentages for Pettigrew this year. Are those gawdy numbers coming from a good % or is he putting it up every time down the floor?

I'd love to see Matt win the award.

Honeslty I think it would be hard not to vote for Matt. He plays on the #1 team in the state and averages over 20 points a game with atleast 2 other kids a night scoring in double figures. He was i'm not sure if he still is the number one free throw shooter in the state and has hit more clutch shots than anyone in the state. I honestly believe if Matt played for E-town(which is terrible this year) he wouold average pettigrew's numbers. Pettigrew is playing nowhere near the talent Matt is and I personally think Tubby Smith is outside of his mind if he offers Pettigrew instead of Walls

Etown has been struggling this season and at times have looked bad, however, when you lose two of your starters three games in, you can see why. Panthers are back to full strength and I believe they can compete with any team in the state.

If Matt played for Etown he might score more than 20, but I am certain he can't also bring down 13.8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 steals, on and on. Steffphon is far and away the best player in the state. Tubby would do well to offer Steffphon a scholarship. I don't think he will when it's all said and done. We will see how Steffphon does, somewhere. I hope it's UK, but won't be disappointed when they don't offer. Then Steffphon can come back to Rupp with someone and beat the Cats. It's a tradition lately.

King Rex - those numbers are really impressive for Pettigrew.

 

I wish E-town had come back to the Toyota Classic one more year... We could have seen these two go head to head.
