Walls had another big game tonight on a big stage at Lexington Catholic. His "and one" 12' jumper with the game on the line was CLUTCH.

 

Don't doubt the value of the "big stage" - and Walls has been on quite a few this season.

I know he will not win he dosen't have enough pull but Jon Vanhoose at Russell could quit possibly be the best player in the state but for some reason or another he has been under the radar. Steffphon Pettigrew will win it more than likley.

The reason Vanhoose has been under the radar is they have played a typical 16th region schedule. Other than their loss to Mason Co in the 5th 3rd Russell has not gotten out and played any top teams. Mr. Basketball is a lot about publicity. To promote a kid for Mr Basketball the coach has to get a schedule that showcases the kid in big games. Not going to happen playing Ashland and Greenup County.

Exactly. And while VanHoose was the leading scorer, Russell's lackluster performance in the Sweet 16 last year against Graves Co. left a lot to be desired, from the standpoint of Sweet 16 fans and would-be voters.

Coach Wright could have helped Proffitt a little more by playing a more competitive schedule also. He could have sprinkled a few more of the state's top teams into the SL schedule. Other than Madison Central has SL played any top 10 teams?

I was very impressed with Matt Walls. I have seen most every player mentioned play this year including Pettigrew. I think Walls should be seriously considered, especially if they win the 11th and make noise at Rupp.

 

He is the man for Scott County. He is very solid in all aspects of the game.
