Lexington Catholic 71 GRC 43

Featured Replies

Last quarter says it all. At the end of the 3rd quarter it was LC 43 GRC 39. GRC scored 4 points in the 4th quarter. Road dosn't get any easier as we play LaFayette here on Friday.

This wasn't the real GRC team tonight.... just wasnt there... might I add for the first 3 quarters(didn't pay attention to them in the 4th)... this is the first time I can honestly say that the ref's were terrible.

I really thought the Cards would be more competitive in this one. Was this in Winchester? How many did Knowles/Jones have?

The refs were equally bad both ways.If not worse for Catholic.Jones should have fouled out in the 2nd quarter.

I don't think there is anyway you can say that... Novasol?sp was pushing and shoving just as much as Jones was. Also in the backcourt on press defense the guards got away with alot of pushing. It was a very physical game, that just got away from the Cards tonight.

Anyone got stats for this one? I am suprised by the final score.

Did Lex Cath press the whole game and it finally paid off the 4th quarter? Usually they run that 2-2-1 full court.

Novasel is so good at playing physical - very physical - but not pushing it so far that he gets a lot of fouls called. I bet the match up between he and Jones was worth watching.

Sounds like Clark had a letdown after the Mason County game on Saturday. To be honest, I'm not all that upset that the Mason-Bishop Brossart game scheduled for tonight got postponed; as it could also have been a bit of a letdown game for the Royals.

Having watched Catholic twice against Mason County, they play a physical game and manage to do so without getting a lot of fouls called. You have to be able to match that kind of play. One of the drawbacks to Tristian's game is that he tends to be obvious sometimes with things like moving screens, moving guys around with the lower part of his body, camping out with one foot in the paint, etc. Probably still a little rusty after missing time with the bad wrist. He played extremely well against Mason County early then tired a bit; possibly still not in the best game shape yet.

Also have to have multiple ball-handlers against Catholic's zone press.

You can be sure that Clark will bounce back and be ready come tournament time. One bad game (quarter?) does not a season make.

Margin of victory surprises me.

Heard GRC's top player quit after the game. Is he gone, or did coach talk him into coming back. Did I get bad information? Did something happen after the game?

That is the exact same way that Catholic played us and not many fouls were called until the end when it was all said and done.

The GRC coach is quoted as saying the LexCath defense was tremendous.

i heard there was some controversy too. I'm sure he won't be gone long with the tourny 2 weeks away, no matter what happened.
