I'm glad we aren't playing the finals of the 11th until Tuesday. The winner will still have to wait a week and a day - but finishing up on Sunday or earlier makes for a LONG time between games for those already headed to Rupp. It does give Gold a longer time to smile all over Winchester though...

I hope the SC players read the articles in tomorrow's paper about GRC taking down Mason (the favorite)... Tates Creek is every bit as dangerous for Scott County.

False. If it is a legitimate shot attempt it does not have to hit the rim and you can get your own rebound. They changed that rule a few years ago.

At halftime they announced the 10th region Hall of Fame inductions. The radio stayed live. Nice touch. This announcer does a great job too. I didn't catch the first two - they were older guys. I think they said the first one played for Maysville High and was drafted by the Celtics. The 2nd one was from Fleming Co. in the 70's. Sounded like Miller got a HUGE slam just before half time. Knowles went right back down with a lay up Mason 26 Clark 25 4 ties and 4 lead changes so far... great game. Neither team gets to the bonus in the first half. HALF TIME.

It is a rare occasion where the home team has more fans that SC brings on the road. They are loyal, loud and they get there early.

Behind Rupp where the busses park is not a bad spot. It's a little bit of a hill to walk up, but not too bad. Easy to get out because of the light that if you go straight across is Newtown Pike.

I can see where someone who hasn't seen Catholic at their best might not be overly impressed with this win by the Cards. The offense wasn't as dominating as it sometimes is, but the Defense was stellar. SC may be #1 in the polls, but there isn't really that much difference in 1-10. It's not like SC is the Celtics back in the day or UCLA... There is a lot of parity in the 11th region as you can see with Creek's run. If you read some of the posts on BGP - "best team ever" blah blah blah it's easy to see how someone might have some very HIGH expectations. In reality SC is a darn good, hard-working basketball team. The day they think they are more than that is they day their season ends.

False. Tates Creek is a quality team. They are WAY more athletic than Lex. Cath. They are playing with a very high level of confidence right now. My Cards will have to bring their A game for all 32 minutes (or more) to pull this one out.

Congrats to GRC for hanging in there and pulling it out. That's pretty impressive for an 8th grader to step up in that pressure situation.

Observations 1. Scott Co was the more aggressive team today. 2. Hundley and Lee did a GREAT job defending Novosel and holding him to only 5 shot attempts! 3. Jimmy Warren put together another great game - getting every loose ball. LC changed who would bring the ball up the floor to make sure it was not who Warren was guarding. 4. Scott Co. came out of the half time locker room ready to play - out scoring Lex Cath 25-10 in the third quarter. 5. Mackey didn't score as much as normal, but he made a lot of correct decisions finding the right people in the right places on the court to help SC win... He also spent a lot of the game in foul trouble. 6. Taylor Stewart had a really nice block on Mackey - they were both well above the rim. 7. The double technical was the right call. Corvin isn't in the game for his great basketball ability - he's the hustle/garbage man for Catholic. He dove hard - Mackey has to realize that he's not as expendable as some who might try to get him to retalliate. I'm glad the whole incident was over quickly and the game went on... There were more than just Mackey and Corvin pushing and pulling other players. 8. Scott County's fan base is awesome - it was a sea of red today.

No - I'm not paranoid, but I'm not clueless either... I really believe that the age limit is the only rule needed.

If you are referring to my post - you need to read it again. I plainly stated that I think those who broke the rule should be held accountable and ruled ineligible. However, like in life - if I disagree with a rule/law I have the right to go through a process to try to get it changed. I need to abide by the law until it is changed, but I have the right to disagree with it and let my congressman know and so on...
