WOW! Who woulda thunk? 26 point margin vs. a very good team. Scott will be tough for anyone to beat and congrats to them.

Lex Cath played hard and had a good game plan the first half. SC broke them down in every phase of the game in the 3rd quarter. Lex Cath disapointed me with the little situation with 4 min to go in the game. Lex Cath has always shown a lot of class in the past. I hope the situation today and the situation with the girls team is an aberation for this great sports program.

Scott County pulled away in the 3rd quarter in this one. Walls was on fire. I think Creek will be a very tough game for Scott County in the finals.

Mackey did jump up to retaliate, and you have to be smarter than that. Thank goodness his teammates held him back. But for Tyler Corvin to throw such a flagrant cheap shot at Mackey was just as classless as what happened in the Lex Cath girls game with Tates Creek. If you read my previous posts, you will see that I have been an admirer of the Lexington Catholic sports program for a long time. I never once saw Danny Haney's teams pull that kind of crap. I really don't think Salsman instructed Corvin to do this, like many of the SC fans near me thought.

This was a pretty poor game all around. I hadn't seen Scott County this year and I'm not judging on one game, but they weren't very impressive today. Mackey was a non-factor. Walls was very good and should probably get even more looks. I'm not sure about the center #42, but his presence on defense was very intimidating to Catholic.

 

As for Lexington Catholic, I wasn't really prepared to see such a poor team. They had two nice players but really had nothing to go with it. The Knights did a nice job of running their offense in the first quarter (that was the only way they could have won), but it seemed like they got away from it completely in the second half.
