Todd Jacobs to Thomas More

Featured Replies

I heard this for over 6 months now, but I heard it was announced last night at CCH Senior Night. CovCath standout senior guard, one of the top guards in the state, will be attending Thomas More College.

Todd is exactly what this program needs to start rebuilding. I've heard from people within the Thomas More program that they are bringing in 10-12 freshmen to give current players competition for playing time.

I would have thought he would have gotten a better offer than Thomas More.

Did he do this to be close to home?

Either way....Congrats to him and best of luck!

Congrats to Todd, and yes, I think he wanted to stay close to home. I agree with Tiger however, that I thought he might go to a higher profile program. If NKU is considering Hester, I'd think Todd could certainly play there? I'd also heard Mt. St. Joes mentioned? I've also heard Kurt Bovard of CCH may join him at TMC!!

Congrats to TJ. He's one of my all-time favorites on and off the court. He didn't want to stray too far from home and TMC is the benefit of that. Hopefully, this will show other top local players that the new sheriff in town is bringing in top notch local talent and more will then follow. I'm an NKU grad but I'll gladly sport TMC Saints gear to root for the local boys.

Todd to NKU: I know he can play there. He knows he can play there. NKU, for some reason, hasn't shown like they think he can play there. Life goes on.

Bo, another favorite, may end up there as well. MSJ is a possibility. They work well together so TMC would definitely benefit should it become a package deal.

He is an excellent student and I'm guessing he wasn't as concerned about how high the basketball profile was as he was concerned about the academic profile. At TM (who doesn't offer athletic scholarships), he can stay close to home, go to a great academic school, and still compete at the college level in basketball. Seems to be a great situation for him.

Perfect fit for Todd, as others mentioned he wants to stay home, he's bright and will study pre-med, not a big profile guy and would fit better into a small campus, can go home for dinner whenever he wants(you think I'm kidding that's big for him and his very close family)

Congrats Todd, you'll help them immediatly

Also heard as other that Bo will be there or MSJ as he has decided to pursue basketball not football. He was not a fan of working year around to play 12 games and is excited about pursing bball

Does Thomas More give athletic scholarships?

Todd wants to get into pre-med! He has the grades, the desire, the backing of his family some of which I understand are already in medicine. Why go play at a high profile school to play basketball, if your life ambitions is to be a Doctor..... TJ has made the right decision for himself and his future...... Another CovCath kid who understands the importance of a great education over sports.

Sports are for fun, a great education is for life......and I keep on wondering why so many, still think students attend CovCath because of sports.......

NO. They don't give athletic scholarships, but I've heard that Todd might be the one athlete that recieves a academic scholarship this season. He has a 3.8gpa and 24 or 25 on the ACT. He's a very smart kid.

I've heard Bovard is also considering and wants to play bball, but he has not made a final decision I don't think.

Look for TMC to bring quite a few CCH boys over in the future thanks to new assistant coach Matt Finke. Also Scott High grad, Jesse Jett, will bring in good local talent. He's a great evaluator of talent and also great with young adults.

Congrats and well deserved. He can play but obviously is looking at the bigger picture.

I saw him play over at Georgrtown in the Classic. I was very impressed with him ,the team and thought they were well coached.

I bet Centre is crushed.

I talked their coaches, and they knew he was staying home...

Good to see, I hope TM can get the program going in the right direction. Good luck Todd.
