Membership has not gone up that much. BUT, if you did not buy a membership during open enrollment, you now must pay a $ 15, 000 initiation fee payable over three years. Steep I know. The pro shop and new facilities are beautiful. The course will be great once all the changes are done.

I am not sure why you guys think Hazard will be so great. Their tourny MVP was the Whitaker kid from Bell last year, no offense but Corbin beat that team last year. If he is their best player I can't see South not winning this game. I dont know what else South has to do for people to take them for real. These guys are very well coached, they play together , and dont make many mistakes. What is so great about Hazard, someone please iniform me.

Does anyone know if the girls tourny is being televised or on the radio on the internet?

Harlan County should not be that strong. Unless a lot of good players come out of the woodwork. Middlesboro lost one of their best scorers and Clay also is losing a few key players. Not really sure about Bell.

It is easy to say these things after the fact. I don't know what teams you are watching but Corbin is not quicker than South. They may be quicker in a couple of spots, but overall South is much quicker and mobile. You cant hold the ball against South. Even when they are in a zone, they are usually matching up out of it and you can't hold it.

South is losing Bortnem, Jones, Duncan, Price, Corbin is losing Cashen, Barley, Madon, Rogers,

This is true, and to be honest, Crooked Creek is not in that company. BUT, Crooked Creek has made some serious changes that will make it easily the best course between Knoxville and Lexington, with the potential to be the best course in Kentucky.

Elliot House of South Laurel won his region this year. He did not perform his greatest at state, but has been working on his game ever since. Elliot could make a splash at state and many invitationals this year.

Great win for Lynn camp. Congrats to Coach P and his staff. Lynn Camp has had a wonderful year. There next test will be SL. This will be a very difficult game for Lynn Camp. South has been there and is a very good ball club. I would think that south is a huge favorite, but you never know what can happen in these regional tournaments. I will say if Lynn camp has 35 turnovers against South they will have no chance. South is very good and does not make many mistakes.

Corbin played one of the best games that I have seen any team play this year. They shot the ball well and played well as a team. If Corbin plays that kind of basketball they will be hard to beat. Congrats to Corbin's players and coaches on an impressive victory.

Referre's play a huge role in basketball. The ideal ref is the one that no one remembers. You leave the game without noticing the refs. This doesn't happen very often in this area. Most of the time it is the exact opp. The refs get more attention than the players and the game. Refs need to realize it is not about them. It is not for them to put on a show. It is about the kids and that is it. With that said it is normally the best team and more powerful team that seems to get the calls, but at the end of the day if you are good enough to win, you will win no matter what the situation.

Knox Central should control this game from the tip. They are a much more physical and athletic team overall than Cumberland. Central will probably be nervous from the start, but after they get all the nerves out, they should control this game.

I think you have to give the advantage to South. When it comes to big games and pressure situations no team is better than South in the past few years. The proof is in the pooding. You dont win district, regional, and state titles without knowing how to preform in the big ones. Good luck to all the teams, they all have a lot to be proud of. Making it to the region is something that everyone shoots for, and now they are there. It is up to the individual teams now to decide who wants it more.

Actually I did not see that game that South thumped Corbin, but you must have also forgotten about the game that Corbin thumped South. As far as adjusting to the way a game is being called you are correct about that. The only problem with the way the games are called sometimes is they are so inconsistent and many times the kids do not know what a foul is.

I think this game will depend greatly on how the game is called. If Corbin is allowed to play physical they have the advantage, and should win. If the game is called tight and is made into an execution type game, I think South may execute better at times and is more patient on offense. Corbin may play right into South's hands. The mid range game is the way to beat south and Corbin may shoot the three a tad to much. If those shots are falling you may see a substantial victory, if those shots are not falling south may take another District championship back to London.

I would not doubt Williamsburg's ability just yet. I recall just a couple of weeks ago, the Giants overtaking "the greatest team ever" in a David vs. Goliath matchup. Williamsburg will go out tonight with nothing to lose. With the fantastic sophomore Chad Terry bursting on the scene for the Jackets, Coach Robinson now has more depth that he was looking for the entire season. Rumor has it starting center Jacob Teague is out because of illness...A major obstacle for the team to overcome.

Whomever wins the Region tournament this year is going to earn it. There are many teams that have the talent and ability to win. South, Corbin, Cumberland, Pineville, Knox Central, Clay County, Jackson County all have the ability to win this regional tourny. What will make a big difference is how the district tourny's shuffle out and who ends up playing who in the first round of the region. For instance if South Laurel gets the number 1 seed in their district, they will have to play Williamsburg, and corbin would play Whitley. If corbin gets the 1 then they will play williwmsburg, and South would play whitley. The district tournament is being held at Whitley and Whitley always is a very hard place to play. Which ever team has to play Whitley will have to fight to win that game. Chris Baker and Jason Faulkner will have Whitley's boys ready to play and South or Corbin better not look over this game. Depending on the outcome of this game this could make a difference if Corbin and South are able to get by Williamsburg and Whitley. Games in the district and in all district cases the winner of that district should have an easier first round game in the region altough this is not always the case. Which team do you think has the best team not for one night but for 3 or 4 games in one week. Look at this seasons tournaments that they have played in and this might tell you who has the debth to travel to Rupp.

Who had some rough years at Williamsburg?

People need to stand in the shoes of a coach before they criticize coaching decisions. Here is the thing most people don't realize. Yeah it is probably true that some coaches that do not have much experience may have trouble during pressure situations but at the same time I don't know of any coach that is going to purposely make a bad decision that will effect their team in a negative way. Coaches are trying their best and in this day and age coaches have everybody in town that thinks they know more about the sport that than the coach does. Some of these people that know so much about basketball and the decisions that should be made need to apply for a coaching job and try it for themselves.
