Corbin

I think Corbin may come out with a point to prove this week. I also think that they have found their motor and starting to seperate themselves. I don't see this being a big high scoring outfit but see a good game.

Probably something along the lines of a 6-8 point lead for Corbin but late desperation fouls make it double digits.

 

When will the region draw be? As balanced as the region is, in some cases it could almost be better to go in as the district runner up rather than champ.

Region draw is Sunday at 2 p.m.

Wouldn't be shocked at all to see the loser of this game, winning the region.

But IMO, Corbin is the favorite with Knox Central not far behind.

I picked South Laurel in the BGP contest based on the last time they played, a game in which South had very little trouble with Corbin, and the game was at Corbin.

Corbin had a little bit of an adjustment period when Josh Crawford came back full-time, though now they seem to be hitting on all cylinders. South Laurel may have tipped their hand the last time these two played and I'm guessing the the Hounds have made the necessary adjustments to beat the Cards.

This is a tough one...have to take Corbin by 5...no SL by 5 ok corbin by 3....I think. Going to be a great game I'm sure.

I think this game will depend greatly on how the game is called. If Corbin is allowed to play physical they have the advantage, and should win. If the game is called tight and is made into an execution type game, I think South may execute better at times and is more patient on offense. Corbin may play right into South's hands. The mid range game is the way to beat south and Corbin may shoot the three a tad to much. If those shots are falling you may see a substantial victory, if those shots are not falling south may take another District championship back to London.

You must not have seen the game that South thumped Corbin(an evenly officiated game IMO). The game was called very loose(I believe that Corbin shot 5 FT's and South shot 12)and South was much more physical and agressive than Corbin.............so a loosely called game might actually favor South Laurel.

 

Teams have to learn to adjust to the way a game is being called, then the officiating does not really come into play that much and the team that plays better on that night wins the game. The coaches and players and South Laurel and Corbin normally do a good job at having their kids prepared for whatever happens and that is why both teams are usually successful.
