Didn't University Heights win both in the 80's or 90's?

Can't imagine Justice doesn't win it now that his team is in the finals. I still believe that overall Sewell played against far better competition this year(even though SV is in finals they still played 1/2 the top 20 teams that Trinity did and 2 of Trinity's four losses were to tonight's opponent Ballard) and put up as good or better numbers but not getting to Rupp will win it for Justice.

Saw them both play and I have to give the nod to Scott County. They could lose if they turn the ball over more than 20 times, which is possible against Ballard but they have the size inside, big guards who should be able to handle the traps, and they are athletic enough to compete on the glass and in transistion. Should be a barnburner! :thumb:

This is the biggest problem I have with giving the Mr. Basketball to a kid like Polson or Justice. One is a D1 walk-on, the other a DIII player. While they are certainly nice players, if they win the award that makes KY basketball a JOKE nationally IMO if your Mr. Bball isn't a D1 scholarship player!!

One of these guys was the same official that called the "phantom" foul with 6 sec to go to decide the Trinity-Male regional game. This guy needs to re-evaluate why he's an official. It seems to be very apparent it's more about him than the kids:puke: Sorry it had to happen to the Rockcastle kids!

Another player to watch is Austin Flannery from Scott Co. He hasn't received the hype of the other starters(Euton, Guyn, Jackson) but has averaged double figures this year and has expanded his game from the spot up shooter that he was at Boone Co. He's also increased his athleticism allowing him to defend well. He is one of the main reasons that Scott Co is starting to reach their full potential!

Check out Tyrell Means from Ballard. He's only about 5' 10" but can get way up and gets up FAST! Keiston Jones also has some serious hops!:thumb:

Actually, after Ballard they would get Warren Central(most likely) before meeting Scott Co in semis.

Give me a break! 90% of winning is who you're playing and Sewell played against top 20 varsity competition while Justice played teams in his regional that would not have beaten Trinity's JV team.

As I recall from watching the game, the Flannery kid pretty much locked him down and I don't recall him getting a shot off!

Fact- only about 5 ranked teams at state- 15 sitting at home because of the way the system is set up so there is NO WAY getting to Rupp is a measure of a great season. It was FAR more difficult to win the KOB, Republic bank, and LIT than to win any region except the 7th this season and probably a more impressive run than winning state, looking at the competition left. Sewell's team gets to play in any region except the 7,11- they are at Rupp and probably easily! We'll never know! And I agree, Polson desrves some credit for what he has done as he doesn't have near the supporting cast as Justice, as I understand it.

If they play like this only Ballard has a chance to stay in the game with them. But, they're high school kids so you never know who will show up so that's why they toss it up!

Has to be a weak field when 7 of the top 20 were in the 7th region and only one can make it. Add the loss of Holmes and it is what it is.

Sorry, but IMO it is the officials job to give the kids the fairest chance to compete and if they see an obvious mistake by one of their colleagues, I don't care where they're standing or what their responsibility is, they need to speak up!! I can see leaving a foul call alone but this was a clock issue and I bet the other two guys knew the shot was good if they were paying any attention.

Certainly many plays determine the outcome of a game but in an obvious game changing sitaution, the refs should swallow the whistle. The problem with the Franklin Co call was that it was OBVIOUSLY wrong and I can't imagine why the other officials didn't overrule him. The Trinity call was made by the official out of position and the whistle only blew two-three seconds after the block. If he had made the call immediately, it's just a bad call. The delay REALLY makes you wonder if there was an agenda.

Not sure but we have at least three regional games where the refs mistake/intent either "stole" a game or decided the outcome. Franklin Co- Henry Clay horrible miss on the putback Trinity- Male Phantom foul in last 7 sec South Oldham- Gallatin Co. foul on a three, I believe

It sure looks like that may have been the case. Only quality win was a home win over Ballard with multiple losses to the other good teams they played. Everybody back so they have another shot next season.

Male proved the Trinity win not a fluke! I don't think they can beat Ballard but I didn't think they would beat Manual, Trinity or Jtown so they are obviously the hot team in the 7th!

Just watched this replay- What a joke!! This is the second game where the officials have totally screwed up and decided the outcome. Foul at end of Trinity -Male game was a horrible calll on a blocked shot and he didn't blow the whistle until several seconds after the shot was blocked. OFFICIALS NEED TO LET THE KIDS DECIDE THE GAMES!!!

If Nikolic goes for over 15, Manual wins If not, I have to go with Ballard

Yeah- It's like Spanish- Sewell plays against American level competition and Justice plays against Spanish level- I see what you're trying to say!
