For the second year in a row, Corbin plays one of the favorites to win it all. Last year, they drew Eastern.

 

Hounds played Scott Co. in Manchester earlier in the year and lost by 11. The game was very close until the Cards pulled away with a 17-2 run late.

 

This game will pit Corbin's coach, Tony Pietrowski, who just obtained his 200th win, against his high school coach, Billy Hicks. Pietrowski took over the Corbin job after the departure of former UK Quarterback, Mike Deaton, who had replaced Hicks.

Newport is not getting to the quarter-finals. Their season will be over next Wednesday night against Christian County.

Look, we get it that this is a Mason/GRC barb. No one in this thread has said anything negative about Mason's chances. As a matter of fact, Q says earlier that he thinks they'll end up in final four.
