I dont know if he broke it for sure but he was in A LOT of pain. It hurt me to watch. I would be surprised if something wasn't broken. There was no intent by the Mason player to hurt him either. He was just taking it strong to the hole and drew some contact, just like you see 10+ times every game. Just unlucky how he fell.

It was a nasty looking injury. He hopped up to the bench, but you could tell he was in A LOT of pain. Hopefully it isn't career ending and he can get back on the court soon. As for the "almost" dunk, Darius was trying to score and swing the momentum back to the Royals. A dunk like that would have definately got the fans involved and inspired his team. He charged and got it called on him. No harm done, just an athletic move made by a great player. Good Luck to the Royals tomorrow, it will be a very tough test.

I may be alone on this one, but the gym at Lexington Catholic seemed to be really quiet during this game, especially since there seemed to be a lot of people there.

Mason Co. looked very tired tonight and it was somewhat of a letdown game for the Royals after two big games. Iolani was small, but were very tough and scrappy and played the Royals hard. Darius stepped up big and carried the team on his back in the second half. It was not the Royals best game by any means but a win is a win. The team looked a little worn out after playing two games in less than 24 hours. Hopefully we can rest and relax the flight home and during the holidays to be ready to play at Lex Cath. This team showed some great heart here in Honolulu. They should have come away 4-0 since they had a lead in the 4th against Rice and let it slip away. But there is no shame in losing to a top 10 team in the nation. The Royals are in great shape and to me are the clear cut number 1 team in the state. They are really fun to watch.

He will have to put on some weight and get stronger if he wants to play Major D-1. But he definately has the skills. Last time a shooter from Mason County was over looked, every team in America realized they made a mistake... I'm not saying he will be anything close to as good as Chris, but he is a very good player with tons of potential.

Are you serious? Have you ever been there when we played Lex Cath or Scott Co? Or for a 10th region tournament game? There wasnt that big of a crowd there at all.

Mason County will win by double figures. The Royals are on a mission this year.

The team is only paying for the juniors and seniors to go. Any other player that wants to go has to pay their own way. They are selling ads to local businesses to put up in the fieldhouse for all season. The team is also doing several fundraising events to raise money to go.

Barner is a decent player but is still just a sophomore and will get limited minutes this season. He has alot of work to do if he wants quality minutes.

The Mason Co. started Middleton, Setty, Miller, Downing, and King. That seems to be what the starting lineup will look like all year. They are going to be tough to beat. Mason did not play their football players very much since they have not been practicing. Jeremy Thompson, Jackson Tolle, and Westin Stahl should give them quality minutes along with Ryan Hamm and Phil Barnes. And if you missed it, Darius had a ridiculous dunk. A Mason player missed a shot that hit hard off the rim and Darius came from about a step from the free throw line and threw it down HARD. It was one of those dunks you could hear! Should be a great year for the Royals. As for the other Royals (Rose Hill), they have some work to do. They have two VERY strong players, with definate D-I talent, but besides that, they seemed pretty weak. If they want to make a run at the 16th or make some noise in the state, they will have to have a few other "role players" step up.

Giving them props is fine. There are pleanty of talented players in the state and they deserve their time too. But Miller and Mackey are on a completely differently level and I would be SHOCKED if someone other than one of those two won. They are just in a whole other league.

The list begins and ends with Darius Miller and Bud Mackey. Period.

Danny Boyd was a great man and a great part of the Mason County Basketball program in the school in general. I know he will be greatly missed by our players, coaches, and fans this year. My prayers are with him and his family. He was what Mason County was all about and lived his life setting a great example for everyone around him. I did not know him that well but through my limited interactions with him, I was very impressed. Like it was stated before, every time I came into contact with the man when he had a smile on his face and kind words to say. This is a huge blow to our County. I know that the players will play even harder next year to win one for Danny. God Bless him and his family. We'll miss you Danny. Thanks for everything you've done!!!

I agree. I really don't like anything that has to do with Scott Co. but it is hard to ignore the facts. What they did this year was very impressive.

This is a joke. Mackey doesn't get a POY vote and Miller isn't on the first team. Did the people that voted ever see them play? If they weren't the best players in the state, they were at least top 5!!! I'm just shocked.
