All right - we're finally to the "Ms".:thumb:

Should be a fun year to be a Royal fan as they should be a top 3 team in the state.Mason will be tall and very long this year with there smallest starter being 6'3 and basically all of them but 1 can nail the 3.The starting 5 should go Middleton and Setty in the backcourt with Miller,King and Downing in the front court. They already return a very deep bench in Thompson,Tolle,Hamm,Lykins,Breckenridge just to name a few. This team just got a little deeper with the transfer of a kid(sorry don't know the name) from Bryan Station hes a 6'5 Sophomore with great athleticism and can jump out of the gym,Needs to wok on his shot though but hes a slasher. They also will have a great Freshman class doubt any of them will see varsity just due to how deep the team is but some should see some JV minutes. They will have the hardest schedule in school history by far though as theres really not a cupcake on there,Should be lots of fun.:ylsuper:

Thought of you when I typed this one...:D

Mason I see as #2 in the state and could go #1. They are loaded. No mistake who will be ranked #1 in the 10th this year. I look forward to keeping up with my 10th region buddie this season.:thumb:

From what I been told it will be Setty,Miller,Tolle,King and Middelton starting Downing will be the sparq off the bench and the defensive specalist.

I think the Catholic and Scott Co games are 2 that I would love to see this season! Mason has become a perennial powerhouse basically the last 7 or 8 years.

The Royals may go undefeated this season.

They are starting to play the same game as Catholic and Scott Co.Go get em Royals.:dancingpa

The Royals may go undefeated this season.

Wow that is a bold statement. It will be awful tough to go undefeated with their schedule. Im a little bias but Scott County will be awful tough to beat as well as Lex. Cath. Billy Hicks has never been beat by a Mason county team that was not led by Chris Lofton. I dont think that streak will be broken. But I know it will be a heck of a game.

Scott County is tough, Lex cath pretty solid, but the Royals as I said "May" go undefeated.

Like last year many predicted the Royals were goin' back to Rupp, but the Cardinals from Clark County wasn't ready to pack it up yet, and beat Mason County in the Championship of the 10th region Tournament.

The Royals most play every game like it's their last game, and don't their guards down against anyone, or they may lose a few games here and there they should've won.

With that said I wish them luck this year.:thumb:

As tough as Scott Co. & Lex. Cath. are going to be, the thought of going undefeated when you are playing in a tourney as strong as the Iolani in Hawaii, or in Scott Co.'s case of the City of Palms, going undefeated is very unlikely. The positive in both cases is that with these teams schedule they will be even more ready come playoff time. It should be a great season all the way to the end. Good luck to all.

The Royals may go undefeated this season.

They will against 10th region teams because no one can match up with them.

It's a little early to start counting chickens. Several things have to go right in order to have a legitimate shot at the brass ring.

Stay healthy, stay out of trouble (remember the little incident in March 2004). Let's not forget that 4 of the Royals' top 7 graduated last spring (Pawsat, Scott, Browning and Stahl). Two were starters.

King, Tolle and Downing in particular will have to play extended minutes and fulfill their roles; whether it be defense, rebounding, etc.

What was it about Clark County that eliminated Mason County in the regional final? For one, they had a stud player (Knowles) that absolutely went off. Find a way to contain the studs on the other team.

That being said, Miller and Knowles pretty much canceled each other out, so the supporting cast in many ways determined the outcome. When Browning went out with an insury, the sparkplug was gone. Mason needs to find a couple of guys that can come off the bench and provide instant offense and/or instant defense vs. a hot hand.

Let's not get carried away and talk about undefeated seasons. Ain't gonna happen - not with this schedule. Concentrate on getting to the Sweet 16, and see what happens from there if you're fortunate enough to make it. I do know this - while Mason looks mighty good on paper in the 10th, there are a whole bunch of Indians, Cardinals, Eagles and others that aren't gonna lay down just because Mason is "supposed to win"...

The idea of any team going undefeated is extremely complicated. Scott Co. lost 2 games last year to great national powers. They did go undefeated against state opponents. No one had done that before since atleast the 40s I believe. That tells you how hard an accomplishment that is. I do think that Scott Co, and Mason Co are going to represent the entire state well in out-of-state tourneys this season though.

:sssh: :sssh: Great post Papa...you are one of the true realistic ones from Mason Co. You know I hope they have a great season and do great in Hawaii and their other tourneys. But you do know when it comes Regional Tourney time...they will have the bulls eye on their back and several teams in the regional will try their best to knock them off. I do feel with the schedule that they play they will not go undefeated, but will really prepare them for the post season play.

Here is to you and all the rest of the Royal fans to a great and healthy year. Hope to see you all at regionals.:ylsuper:
