I wonder if the new 6'6" transfer will be playing the point or wing.

Probably the wing on JV and little on the varsity

I thought that Browning was the spark for the Royals last year but never started. Thought maybe he should have been the fifth man.

I think that coaches prefer to have a spark off the bench rather than not have that luxiary and Browning to Coach Ohearn was simply that. A kid that could play, hard nosed, energetic and really you don't lose anything when you pull the kid off the bench as your first sub. That works as an advantage against many teams and Tony Browning was the best 6th man in the region last year. I think this is an easy role to establish when coaching because of the benefits that a 6th man can bring to a team, the hard part at times is for the player to accept this role and be a team player. Browning accepted the role and Mason County was better for that reason.

Best example of TB in that role last year was against J'Town. Mason looked to be all but done, Browning came in and made a couple of circus baskets and got the Royals back in the game.

And Stahl contributed significantly as well - mostly from the standpoint of defending and rebounding.

Point is that all four seniors will have to be replaced. Some replacements will be starters, and some will have to be content to be role players on what looks on paper to be a very strong team.

I think they are a better team by far this year and at times the seniors hurt them last year. But they will be missed.

I said to many last year Tony Browning at another 10th region school would have averaged 20 points

In many games , the underclassmen hurt them as well. Any ball player will have an off game every once in a while.

A question - will the Royals have enough firepower when at least one of "the Big 3" are having an off game, sitting due to foul trouble, etc.

Does anyone know about the transfer from Lexington? Did he play much last year, etc?

MCpapa, The "New kid" is as the #1 fan said it, is extremly athletic, and for his size is working hard in the wieght room, and is pretty strong. Although he wont start i dont think, he will play quite a bit considering the teams the team is gonna play this year. I have no doubt coach O'Hearn and his staff will work with him constintly to better his shot, and other weak spots. Oh and by the way the kid is 15 yrs old and is still 6"6. He will mature sooner than most people think he will and I look for him to quickly rize up to help this team.

I think Mason Co. will have a good team this year.

Mason is my pre-season Number 1 in the State with the recent developments at Scott Co.

LexCath at #2.

Its amazing what one stupid act by one "student/athlete" can change the whole outlook of every schools season.

Mason is going to have a great team this year and barring any injury to Miller, Setty, or Middleton, they will get to the Sweet 16.
