Nothing is ever black and white, but it seems a little more support from the administration surely could have avoided this situation. At some point a coach must decide who's side the "power's that be" are on and base your decision on that.

Interesting statement so I went to the KHSAA website which lists records for the last 10 years. Here is what I found; Overall record: 200-98 Titles: 5 "All A" region titles. 3 appearances in the championship game. 2 ninth region titles. (This happens to tie her with Nell Fookes for the most of active coaches in the region.) In looking at this I would say it looks pretty good for a school with probably 400-450 students.

What about Horner? Is she still there? It may be me because I'm not close to the program at all, but she seems to always gets left out of discussions about Highlands program.

You know what, it doesn't make any difference WHAT season it is, people ALWAYS complain about the officiating. It gets old after a while. It is always someone else's fault, isn't it.

AMEN. I completely agree, but it won't happen. All I see when grade school kids warm up is kids literally throwing the ball from the 3 point line. I think it should be fazed in for Jr. high age players.

The "Divisions" are from the NKAC. The reason for the divisions is that all teams in a division play each other to determine the champion. This would not be possible if the league weren't broken into divisions because of numbers. Also, the Div. III, or II, for that matter, schools may have no interest in playing the big schools, and visa versa. As for the overall region, my vote would go to Hodges and Warfield.

Based on this reasoning anything that happens in the first 30 minutes of a game really isn't that imortant to get right. Doesn't EVERY basket impact the game? After watching replays it was almost impossible to tell if it was off in time, because no one could hear the buzzer on replay. The officials were closer than anyone, knew the buzzer was coming, and made the call. That's what they are there for. Keep replays out of high school games.

No question they were the best team in the tourney. Does anyone think there was a special satisfaction for Conner by winning while all their "transferred out" players looked on?

He looked as nervous as a longed tailed cat around a rocking chair. He still gets all worked up at games. Great guy.

If you think Cutter and Adler should have been in more, where was Hoerner when HHS was trying to come back. She keep them in the game for one stretch and all of a sudden was not in the game. I agree I could not figure out why some players were in and others out. The sub patterns made no sense at all at times.

I agree with your comments quick, but looking at it from 32's viewpoint I can see his point also. As an impartial observer the last several days, and all year for that matter, the HHS fans have been much more vocal about how good they were than anyone else on BGP. Conner's fans have had little to say about expectations for this game, as I think was the right thing to do. So based on that I can see 32's point that no one, other than their fans, gave Conner much of a chance in this game. I just think he was giving his impressions based on what he read on here.

Don't get ahead of yourself about being a "heavy favorite" Friday. I agree it would seem that way, but I'm sure some HHS fans thought they were a big favorite tonight. Funny things happen in March.

As was mentioned several days ago it is harder to win when you are SUPPOSED to win. That happened tonight. I really didn't care who won, but I think some HHS fans on BGP made some statements that would have just fired me up if I played for Conner, especially the one about HHS having to have a "complete breakdown" to lose to Conner. Also, I suppose the Adler sisters had to have felt some extra pressure playing against their former team.

Now that the pairings are set, who will win and why?

Thank you. Some people just don't get it that the KHSAA has nothing to do with the All A. It is a lot of hard working volunteers that put this together.

In nthe article Stan Steidel touched on a very valid point. I know a lot of people who would love to go to the regional tourneys but just aren't going to fight the crowds. You almost have to have a rooting interest in the game to get there an hour or more ahead of time just to get in. Now that will all be aliveated. Great news.
