I know as posted on another thread that the following were award winners in Region 9.

 

Conference Coachs and Players in the 9th Region are as follows.

 

Coaches Div. I--Kim Wafield--Conner

Div. II- Jamie Richey-Highlands

Div-III-Aaron Stamm-Ludlow

 

 

Players of the Year

Div. I--Christina Weaver--Holmes

Div. II--Katie Allen-------Highlands

Div. III-Ashley Daugherty-Ludlow

 

 

 

My question is who is the "overall" COY and POY out of those 3 in each category?

POY overall, IMO, Behrens or Hodges.

 

COY Warfield and Miller

I think it is intersting that they have divisions. I don't see why that is done unless you want to have more players/coaches getting recognized as the top. Seems to me that kind of waters down the award to some degree.

 

I don't see other regions having multiple divisions like this and most have large and small schools. Why is there the distinction?

 

Behrens was the KABC player of the year and is a very deserving player.

:thumb: that is kind of why I started this thread. To see who people thought was the COY and POY taking out divisions.

The "Divisions" are from the NKAC. The reason for the divisions is that all teams in a division play each other to determine the champion. This would not be possible if the league weren't broken into divisions because of numbers. Also, the Div. III, or II, for that matter, schools may have no interest in playing the big schools, and visa versa.

As for the overall region, my vote would go to Hodges and Warfield.

Behrens is POY, IMO
