This justifys the reason for having classes. So Carr Creek, no matter how good they, aren't remembered as state champs that year according to your thinking. What a shame.

With UVH the recruiting was proven and the KHSAA banned the importing of foreign students. Don't use this isolated incident to group all private schols.

And why is that? If you can't compete just legistate away the competition? How about figuring out why the small privates are better and do what they do. And don't begin to feed me the recruiting bit. maybe they have better feeder systems where really qualified and dedicated parents do a great job teaching grade schoolers the basics. IMO too many small, and large, public schools feel their kids are entitled to good coaches at the lower level and don't put in the time to ensure the kids get them by volunteering.

Sure it does, to all the big schools. If you classify some sports, do them all. That simple.

Agree whole heartedly. Connor has a reputation of not doing a very good job of running regional tournaments and they lived down to their rep again. Halftime looked like halftime of a 3rd grade game at the local elementary. Also, my understanding is that the idea of charging EVERYONE, meaning very young children was never brought up at the regional meeting.

Just curious MRB, but do you ever have ANYTHING to say that isn't critical of someone? Give the lady a break, she coached on Thursday night, delivered a baby on Friday, and coached in The big game on Monday.

I had heard they were charging for little kids. This is ridiculous. How in the world can you charge for a 19 mo. old. The Reds don't even do that. I am not in that situation, but I wonder what would happen if you just said I'm not paying for them and walked on in. Are they going to get the police? IMO someone needs to challange this and see what happens. This whole situation should be brought to the attention of the appropriate decision makers. The kids would probably spend a couple of bucks at the concession stand, so they would still get their money.

Agree they should have gotten the ball to their key players. You always want your best players taking the win/loose shot. I think some credit has to go to NCC for preventing that, however.

Agree completly. I'm sure NCC won't be looking past Holmes. Holmes just beat Connor on their home floor and are playing their best ball of the season. The big girl was the difference tonight, and will be tough to handle in addition to Weaver. Holmes also made some very nice interior passes tonight between their big people. I thought Connor looked very tight at times, especially late in the game, while Holmes played with more composure. Bottom line, it is NDA's tourney to loose. They are easily the best team, with a great combination of inside and outside play. I don't think they will have a lot of trouble in the semi's or finals IF they just play their game.

In response to your points. 1. there were .7 left and Klei shot the ball on the touch so the shot was of in plenty of time. 2. Agree dixie should have fouled, but the shot came after 3 passes, the last of which was a baseline pass to the weak side. It wasn't a dribble down and lay it in at all. 3.Dixie was taking the ball out at the 28 foot line on the side, not under the basket. You also missed the best coaching call of the game. NCC came out in a ZONE to prevent a one on one situation, either on a drive on post up. #20 was going to post up and went to the wing to come back in for the pass, but when no followed her the play was shot. In regard to the number of players dressing: you must EARN the right to dress, it is not something given away lightly.

Anyone of the 4 teams in the lower bracket could be in the finals. It depends who gets hot. ND/Boone winner would seem to be the favorite, but thet still have to get by Highlands, and if they play like they did Friday that will be no easy chore by any means. I think there will be more close games in this year's tourney than in quite some time because there are really no weak teams and the draw created some great match ups. First of all you are assuming none of the underclassmen will get any better. I'd like to think they will. Also, you must have not seen Highlands lately. Their dominated by underclassmen, and their are a good number of freshmen and sophs that are playing right now at other schools who will become excellent players. No, it isn't as strong as the 11th or 7th, but I would put the 9th against any of the mountain regions year in and year out. No one competes with Lexington and Louisville, so that not a big deal.

It certainly looks like it is NDA's region to loose, because they are the dominante team right now. What has happened to Boone, they may come back and win the region, but they certainly seem to be staggering home right now. Any thoughts?

Looks like a number of districts are upside down. Highlands apparently shot the lights out with 57% from floor and 18/18 at the line. That kind of shooting will beat anybody. LexCath got beat by LCA which could set ou LexCath/Scott Co. in first round. On any given night. It will be interesting to see if the trend continues and what the winners tonight will do in their next game when you go home if you lose.

It would be interesting to know both the girls and boys records in this gym since it opened, but I'm sure the records are incomplete. It's kind of a shame that 50+ years of games leave withoui knowing such things, but years ago no one kept the kind of records they do now.
