Notre Dame Academy 46 Boone County 42

Featured Replies

Notre Dame Academy Senior Nicole Dickman and Emily Drees come up big, as NDA beat Boone County by four and for the first time this season the teams don't go into OT. Now everybody in this forum knows I am a huge Panda fan, but it is really a shame that either team had to lose in a first round match up.

A huge salute and congratulations to Jackie Hicks who I believe scored 23pts or a couple more and with her last Trey, went over the 1000 point mark. Really a heady player and again it really is a shame that either one of these two teams had to meet in the first round.

I made a statement to a couple of NDA fans during the first quarter break, to the effect that both NDA and Boone were playing not to lose more than playing to win. The pressure on both teams was huge. Then I mention that whoever won this game, would have the 500 pound Gorilla taken off their backs and while I didn't think either Boone or NDA would dance the rest of the way, I think either would play a whole lot more relaxed...

Congrats to both teams, and especially senior Bivins, Switzer, Reed, and Hicks. You have no reason to hang you heads.....

NDA girls remember:

One game at a time, one win at a time, getting better everytime...

Jackie Hicks has a nice stroke - easily the best shooter on the floor.

Are NDA girls actually taught to shoot the ball as high as they do? It defies science and I bet the final stats reflect that. Lessen the arc dramatically , girls, and the ball will have a MUCH better chance of going in.

Nicole Dickman's D was very good tonight.

#40 Lacy B. has potential but tonight she got herself in foul trouble with 4 fouls that , from a coach's standpoint, can only be termed "silly." She took herself out of the game.

If I'm still on campus Friday, I'll be watching the Pandas play on ICN-6.

I wonder who'll be calling the game.....

As far as this game, I think it was only destined that they play in the first round after Boone County lost to Conner last week. Seems like a few regional draws had the #1 and #2 teams in the region play each other in the first round.

I bet the Conner gym was electric tonight.

Actually ICN6 taped the game, or at least that is what they told me when I question then on what they were doing... I believe this game will be shown sometime soon, maybe Sunday?

Yes everybody in the gym knew what was at stake and all knew what this game meant to each team.

Personally Coach Darpel should win the Coach of the Year award for no other reason than having a baby on Saturday morning and Coaching her team on Monday night. Prior to the NDA team warming up the NDA fans gave here a standing Ovation, for just being at the game.... Wow, she is one tough Lady..... Congrats Coach.....and you to Dad...:D

Wasn't ICN6, they are only doing the semifinals and finals. It was probably CPC.

As for the game, it was close, but if the Pandas make their free throws, they win comfortably.

congratulations ND it was as good a game as the last 2. It was nice to see all the different players and parents congratulate Jackie when the game was over. These girls are truely special. Joe, Meredith, and Megan hold your heads up you have nothing to regret everything was left on the floor. All 4 seniors will be playing at the next level, Megan will just be in softball though.

Once again Nicole showed up big knocking down the free throws and pulling down the clutch rebounds. Georgetown is getting a real gamer.

Congratulations Jackie it was a good run and your mother and I couldn't be more proud of all your accomplishments and the way you handled yourself throughout your High School career. Not many players get to go to State twice in their career.

Nicole is not going to Gtown as far as I know. You may be thinking of Emily Drees.

Who would have predicted at the start of the season Boone County would not win the district and be out in the first round of the region? Certainly not me, and although winning the region is always tough, I thought they had more than a decent shot.

Great game Panda's. It was as good as the first two score wise but very sloppy play for both teams. As someone mentioned if NDA made their FT's it wouldn't have been close since NDA shot 33 of them compared to Boone's 9, kind of lopsided but every game Boone has played has been that way. I guess they foul more than the other teams for some odd reason. In the 4th qt. NDA scored 15pts, 10 from the FT line. Oh well, nothing to do about it now.

NDA is the best team in the region and hopefully they continue to play well to represent the 9th proudly. Good luck to all but they will have their hands full going up against NDA.

The highlight of the night was seeing the Enquirer's Ryan Ernst sitting in a desk that I sat in in grade school. Ahh, the luxurious life of a high school sportswriter. Hang in there, Ryan. The new facility is only a few years away.

You think this is bad, how do you think Scott Co feels. They win their district and are rewarded by playing the #1 in the state in the first round of their regional tourney. The good teams have to play sooner or later so why not play and get it over w/. It is not like you have time to prepare this time of yr. You either are good enough to win or you are not.

CPC was there doing the game. We are doing the full boys and girls 1st round. I'll get a playback schedule tomorrow...

both teams seemed tight from the get go...the second half was better to watch than the first...I am very impressed with Nicole Dickman's awareness on the floor. She has great awareness, and finishes strong. Katie Tierney brought the emotion tonight...she wasn't afraid to drive, dish, or shoot. Great game, and good luck to the Pandas. Their style and HHS is totally different. I am interested in seeing this game.

Iam interested in what the final score will be , because ND coach will not play a zone like someother coach did when they know they got the better team .And also I know the ND COACH WILL LET HER GIRLS PLAY what I mean is let them be basketball players let them throw the 1st punch. Lets say ND BY 20 EASY . Just IMO ...........

You need to get over it MRB that games over... ND will beat HHS because they have better/older players. They could play a zone and beat HHS by 20. The question is will HHS try to run with them or slow them down and try to keep it close going into the 4th quarter.
