Boone County coach Nell Fookes achieved her 500th victory last night at Holmes High School winning a close one 52-49. Congratulations to one of the best High School coaches in the state and best of luck Rebels the rest of the year.

It would be interesting to know both the girls and boys records in this gym since it opened, but I'm sure the records are incomplete. It's kind of a shame that 50+ years of games leave withoui knowing such things, but years ago no one kept the kind of records they do now.

Here is an eerie piece of trivia for ya.

 

The architect who designed Boone’s gym back in 1955 was Nell’s father in-law. He built a gym that his unborn Daughter in-law would make history in over 50yrs later. Now that is the definition of a very small world.
