Boone County coach Nell Fookes achieved her 500th victory last night at Holmes High School winning a close one 52-49. Congratulations to one of the best High School coaches in the state and best of luck Rebels the rest of the year.

Way to go Nellie and the Lady Rebels. It's time to start picking it up, tournament time. Good luck tonight SENIORS. Play hard as this is the last game to be played in the old gym.

It would be interesting to know both the girls and boys records in this gym since it opened, but I'm sure the records are incomplete. It's kind of a shame that 50+ years of games leave withoui knowing such things, but years ago no one kept the kind of records they do now.

What ever happened to Ben Coffman at Boone???

Congrats to Coach Fookes. The best Coach in the Ninth Region be it the boys or girls game........ and I do remember your first season at Boone County oh those many, many years ago.......

Again Congrats to an outstanding coach and even more so, a wonderful person.....

Here is an eerie piece of trivia for ya.

The architect who designed Boone’s gym back in 1955 was Nell’s father in-law. He built a gym that his unborn Daughter in-law would make history in over 50yrs later. Now that is the definition of a very small world.

Congrats on a personal milestone!

Congrats to Fookes!

congrats to Mrs. Fookes!!!! Great coach and great person for Boone County High School.

That's a lot of basketball. Congrats.
