NCC vs Holmes in semis.

wow this must have been a great game... how well did each of these teams play???

Three big turning points in this game.

 

1. .6 tenths of a second left in the third quarter, NCC putting the ball inbounds under their basketball. NCC gets the ball to #11 (if you had seen NCC play at all this year, you knew NCC would get it to her) and she makes a three point shot. Now I personally think the timekeeper finger was a little slow stating the clock, but the shot was good and the stripes counted it.

 

2. NCC dribbling the ball down the court with under I believe 20/15 seconds. Dixie has a foul to give, but allows the NCC player to penetrate all the way to put in a easy layup and doesn't use that foul. NCC now up by 1....

 

3. Dixe takes the ball out from under their basketball and gets it across the mid court and calls timeout. I would have cleared out for Dixie #24 and let her go one on one to win the game, or at least got the ball into #20 hands to try to score, but Dixie passes it out and doesn't get it into either one of those two ladies and the game is over.

 

Dixie IMO out hustled, and out played NCC, but came up on the short end of the scoreboard...

 

Question to the NCC fans: Why are you only dressing 11 players when the KHSAA lets you dress 15? Why not at least dress some of your Sophomores or Freshmen? Seems a shame not to......

it was a great game to watch. Dixie didn't get the ball to the right person in the end. The last minute went back and forth with each team being up one and so on...great game!

great analysis, but I thought a couple of Miller's layups in the last minute should have been "and ones." She was getting hammered and nothing was called. Too many uncontested NCC layups. Great game though!

Ncc does not have the amount of players on there JV and Freshman teams like most schools... They have some players playing out of there grade school on there freshman team... Ncc only plays 9 for the most part... Watson and Schultz only play when they are up by a big margin with less than 4 minto go in the game... so why dress more players knowing that they will not play at all... let then develop in the lower classes of high school basketball

It's called High School Basketball and it suppose to be fun:D .... Why not let those youngster dress, even if it is just to sit on the bench.... You know one day soon, those kids will be your starters......

I agree but they do not need have to many players on the bench that are not going to play... they have a very good amount of young talent in the program and they just are being careful of how many to put on there bench... they do not need them for the most part klei and sandfoss dont come out of the game... the young talent in our program are mostly gaurds

2. Agree dixie should have fouled, but the shot came after 3 passes, the last of which was a baseline pass to the weak side. It wasn't a dribble down and lay it in at all.

NCC came out in a ZONE to prevent a one on one situation, either on a drive on post up. #20 was going to post up and went to the wing to come back in for the pass, but when no followed her the play was shot.

In regard to the number of players dressing: you must EARN the right to dress, it is not something given away lightly.

There was only .6 on the clock that I was looking at, and in fact I am certain it said .6. It is mighty tough to catch and shoot a pass, either with .6/.7 ticks on a clock.. Timekeeper was slow on the draw JMO.....

 

Will agree with you about the passes and penteration, but with a foul to give, you foul no if's and or butts....

 

Typo: Dixie took the ball out from under the NCC basket to start off the event....... Zone or no zone, you get the ball to your shooters...and Dixie didn't do it.....thus they lost the game....

I think that this is a NCC team that did hit there peak to early in the season and are no longer playing there best basketball at this point... i was not at the game tonight but after seeing them get killed by highlands on friday and then jus barly scraping by a team today that they are much better than... There state tourny is really the all A classic and they were playing much better at that point in the season... they are going to have a real hard time beating ND/HHS

Not saying that Holmes will beat NCC, but you had better play a whole lot better against Holmes then you did tonight against Dixie, if indeed HHS is Highlands and not Holmes.....:thumb:

 

If you overlook Holmes, like I think Conner did tonight, then you will not be moving on to the finals on Saturday....

yes i agree they must go out and play a much harder game than they played tonight if they do want to play on saturday... i think that this may have been a game that wakes them up and the senior klei will be ready to come out and get her team fired up...
