  1. Mason 42 Lex Cath 32 Halftime Official Cary Lyle gives Coach Salsman a technical after protesting a foul called while Setty shot a three. Setty made all 5 FTs. Put Mason up 12, then Lex Cath hit a jumper at the buzzer. Middleton 12 Setty 10 Miller 9 King 8 Smart 8
  2. Mason up 11 at end of 1st Middleton 4 for 4 from deep Miller with 3 pts You can listen at http://www.soft96.com
  3. The Elliott North Oldham thread. One guy said it was the worst officiating he had ever seen. Then I realized he was listening to it in the radio. He was the one giving the updates. Post 12. But like I said, most that posted comments were listening to the radio, and going by what the announcers were saying. I thought the officiating has been pretty good throughout the tournament. http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=139485
  4. Elliott Co. used their bench more tonight than I have seen so far this year. If that tells you anything.
  5. I'll stick to my guess. No way C Knipp is 6' 1". The twins aren't 6' either. They all play bigger.
  6. Elliot Co is actually pretty small. Just guessing: T Knipp 6' 6" J Ferguson 6' 1" E Faulkner 5' 10" E Faulkner 5' 10" C Knipp 5' 8" But Timmy Knipp gets in early foul trouble. Trust me, the Faulkners will hit the boards. Cath better keep a hand in Ferguson's face all night, he shot pretty bad last night and got 30. These three kids leave it all out on the court.
  7. I agree, but I'd say they better worry about Cov Cath first. You can watch T. Knipp even in warm ups, he just goes through the motions whereas the Ferguson kid and the Faulkners seem to be ready to jump through the roof. That also carries over to the game. But maybe with Knipp's consistent early foul trouble, it may be better he doesn't play with the other's intensity, he might not get past the first minute of the game. Knipp has the ability to be one of the top players in the region. He is young, he will figure it out.
  8. I guess the two Faulkners boys at under 6' will have something to say about that. You gotta be able to find em before you can box em out. These two seem to always be there when the ball comes off the rim.
  9. Knipp wasn't matched up with the big guy on defense. Mays put Ferguson on him from the tip. Smart move seeing how Timmy Knipp seems to get in early foul trouble every game. I guess Knipp still found somebody to foul though. The Grace guards didn't seem to try and get the to the big guy much. Ferguson had a bad night shooting, especially in the second half, and still puts up 30. He is the real deal!
  10. Congrats to Elliott County. The officiating was fine. It was good for Elliott Co that they were not calling the hack or there would have been more than Timmy Knipp sitting on the bench in the first half. Hope to see Elliott Co match up with Mason Co. in the semis, but if Mays don't wake up and rest these guys when they're up 30 points they won't have the legs to play. Good luck EC.
  11. I'm not an Elliott Co. fan. Don't really care if they do get beat. Just stating the obvious. See for yourself at the Elliott invitational at MSU in March.
  12. Rowan County might have a chance to be within 20 points of Elliott. That is all the chance the Viking have. Elliott fans - book your rooms for March. No team inthe 16th will play Elliott closer than 15 points.
  13. What he said...... Probably talking about how the officials seem to let Rose Hill go over the back all night long. Every night of the tournament. Are these the comments you are speaking of?
  14. Darn, I was really rooting for Prestonsburg. Hate to see such a class act go down. Please... when referring to "mountain football" remember there is "mountain football" and "Prestonsburg football". There is some class among most of our mountain programs.
  15. You would have been better off playing in Morehead. Be prepared to play 11 on 16 football.
  16. You must have seen a different camera angle than the rest of the world. The Ump blew it. Bottom line. Hoff blows the chance to clinch Sat. night and then blows the lead tonight. Hang it up.
  17. The first time they spiked the ball the clock didn't start. So the officials replayed the down instead of running time off. I'm quite certain Coach Fields knows that the old back to back ball spike doesn't work in this era of football. Williamsburg looked like a team that is going to win a bunch of football games. They are very solid on the offensive side of the ball and they are strong on the line. Williamsburg plays with class which is usually a reflection of the coaching staff. Congratulations to Coach Herron on the win and good luck in the future.
  18. O-Line - Thanks for wasting 1.5 minutes of my Sunday. I shall now go and watch the grass grow.
  19. But hey, like you said, you were in Paintsville. How could anyone expect you to know what what went on at Prestonsburg?
  20. I don't recall saying that the officials cost Bath Co. the game nor did I say anything about a 31 point difference. I was simply saying that if Prestonsburg could be fortunate enough to have the same officials they had last night, they stand a lot better chance of winning rather than losing. If you have a team that is taught to play between the whistles and plays clean going against a team that is not necessary taught that same way, with an officiating crew that don't seem to see any kicking or punching or late hits or tackles out of bounds - Who do you think has the advantage?
  21. Key for Prestonsburg to keep winning - Request the same officials the rest of the year
  22. Bath County moved into their new facility last year and I must say, one thing they didn't skimp on was their lighting. I'd put that lighting system up against any around. I've bee too some Div I stadiums that don't compare.
  23. Did Lewis County only dress 9 players or did I miscount?
  24. A whole bunch of SPEED!!! Tion Thomas has to be one of the fastest in the state. Mason will win after they figure out how to stop Thomas on the option. Special teams will play a big part for Paris. Paris may not be very deep but they will make some noise this year. Did I say Speed?
  25. EKC does honor a Conference Champion each year They also honor: Player of the Year Off. Player of the Year Def. Player of the Year Lineman of the Year Coach of the Year All EKC 1st Team All EKC 2nd Team Honorable Mention I am probably leaving out some awards but I know they have done this for at least 17 years now. They also have the EKC Grid, which takes place this weekend at Fleming Co. and West Carter.
