  1. Sarcasm Northstar, I will be there with bells and whistles on. I am actually hoping to still be playing football that weekend.
  2. What happened to the sanctity of National holidays. I mean this is Thanksgiving weekend. Instead of being with family, these kids from far away will be traveling to play a basketball game. Sports has become the new family structure for most that are involved and it is a shame in my opinion
  3. I will give you St. X and Male but the two NKY powers are not better than the two CKY powers. 1. Trinity 2. St. X 3. Scott Co 4. Male 5. Lafayette 6. SK 7. Ryle 8. Manual 9. McCracken 10. Cooper 10. Conner
  4. Well maybe they want to get noticed. I am not sure but I think they have won like 15 games in the last 10 years. I am not for this behavior because I feel a lot of them have no real understanding of why they are doing it other than the social aspects they see going on with the TV and press.
  5. Trinity, Male, Scott Co. and SK. Trinity and Scott Co in Finals
  6. Not disagreeing because I am not from there but what about these players parents failing them. If they are not eligible to play D1 then that is 100% on the players and the parents themselves. Now schools can tell them what it takes to be eligible which in all honesty is not much. But to put the blame off on coaches and administrators is a straight copout in my opinion.
  7. It will not phase SC at all, you guys obviously have no idea what kind of motivator and coach McKee is. The question may be flipped the other way, can Lafayette be satisfied with a 1-0 win. Will that make them happy. I say maybe their fans but not anyone else in the program. A push to rematch will be in the cards for both coaches moving forward.
  8. Oh Well I guess we will just have to wait until November to see who is the best between the two. It is still not updated on the KHSAA website.
  9. There are no Moral victories. Scott could have won. Have to finish the deal. I do like what someone said earlier about learning experience. They have definitely amped up the schedule and I say the WR learning what it is like to watch and knowing he could have been a huge help may be even bigger than the close score.
  10. Dave Can't tell ratings is what I have always called his sorry ratings
  11. Congrats cam, he will do well in their system and love the area I am sure. Great place and hey do a nice job recruiting our state.
  12. Just to make sure you are clear. Dunbar Lost to Scott County by more than 10 points at KBA this summer and Scott Co. lost to Christian Co in the semis of the tournament. Scott County will contend for the 11th region and can go 11 or 12 deep legit. They have athletes everywhere and their youth is very talented. They are strong and quick, they can shoot the 3 and have some good post players and the Mareno kid is legit.
  13. It is not about X's and O's it is about Jimmys and Joes. If you have them, and can coach the offense you are wanting to implement, weather it be Wing-t, Spread, Split back veer, wishbone, You can and will be successful. On a side note, Cam Newton at Auburn, well that offense is predicated on single wing principles just ran out of the spread. Really what evolved so much was Man-blocking vs. Zone blocking and now Zone teams in the spread who wish to run more use the gap blocking scheme. Last week Scott Co. had 633 yards of offense in the wing t and threw for 146. 3 RB's had over 100 yards and another had 97 vs. a spread team. That spread team had -23 yards rushing and lost 47-20 to the running team. After research. Here is Scott County since 2010. Vs. Lexington area districts: 41-3 Vs. Spread teams: 41-9 Vs. Run Teams: 22-2 Year Record Rush Pass Points Scored 2010 10-4 2857 1464 455 2011 14-1 3813 1134 669 2012 12-2 4000 1192 702 2013 15-0 5152 1357 778 2014 10-2 4060 1210 556 2015 11-2 4531 1103 583 Totals 72-11 24413 7460 3743 Avg. 12-2 4069 1243 623 points per season
  14. What a beautiful story. Jeff was a great friend and is deeply missed.
  15. And Lafayette would host Scott Co or Ryle in the other semi-final
  16. I did not know Jefferson tore his ACL. I hate that for this kid. He is an amazing running back and I felt like he would be the best in CKY this year. What does his recovery look like time wise. Thankful he has another year just being a 2018 kid
  17. No Way that Cooper Robb from Scott County is not on this list. The kid can play and has led Scott County the last two years at the point guard position. Kid is athletic and is also a 3 sport star. I agree with Kunkel, to me the best 2018 in NKY.
  18. Any kid who is running under 5.0 on an electronic time is a good time. SO many things vary with hand times and a lot of colleges that hand time you at camps, take that into account. Shuttle is more relevant. 40's is just a way to rank them compared to others.
  19. First as the former head coach who does still teach in Grant County, I am very excited and please that they have chosen Jamie as their next head coach. Jamie is a great football guy. He was the middle school head coach when I was the high school head coach and my son played for him. He did a great job there and will do a great job at the high school. He is very knowledgeable and a no non-sense kind of coach that will demand work ethic and discipline from his players. He has a mountain to climb with a small senior class and a district with Highlands, Cov. Cath. and Scott in it, but if given time he can build it up and success will come. I hope he has the luxury of getting great coaches in the building and can help surround the kids by the best mentors possible. Kevin Siple did some great things there with those kids and I hate that his tenure had to end the way it did but I am confident Coach Dalzell can build a very sustainable, successful program in his time there. Best of luck to coach and the Braves. Sincerely, Mike Davis
  20. Economy folks, It is expensive to go to sweet 16 for 5 days and stay in hotels, eat out ever day and pay for tickets for just an individual, not to mention if you take your kids. Plus I think if they moved it back to beginning of March so not to compete with NCAA that would be a plus. Also some people now just choose to stay home and watch it on the internet. A lot of factors but I don't think it has anything to do with what day the championship is played on but I do agree that it matters who is playing. Doss had very little support there this year and that hurt.
  21. The GST is a great ball and is only 70 dollars, this is pitiful if you ask me. Rawlings balls were terrible and a waste of money. Now a ball that I have never seen used is MANDATED to be used by all. Too bad for all the programs out there that already has their balls in for the spring and summer. throw that money away and go fundraise to buy these balls. Such bad timing in my opinion.
  22. Not to take anything away from Carson, because he sure doesn't have the talent around him like Hollingsworth. Not to say anything bad about Hollingsworth (11th region player of the year) very god player, BUT Goodin from Taylor Co. is the best individual player in the state. Hollingsworth will have his due next year.
  23. I can assure you no one that defended #13 for Mercer could. He crossed them over and got to the rack a ton. If someone besides Hollingsworth doesn't step up vs. BG they could be done.
  24. Don't count out that fact that you could see a rematch of Scott Co vs Henry Clay. Clay can beat Dunbar if they play like they did in the district finals.
