Bozich's latest blog indicates that, as the Trinity posters thought, Oscar is staying put, but he still expects Cassity to join the coaching staff at Fern Creek.

Just curious what Trinity fans think about this speculation. If Oscar leaves, does this hurt Trinity's ability to develop talent at the QB position? Additionally, could this help develop FC over the next few years with Cassity and Brohm helping Higgins? I don't recall seeing a single person say that X will probably be the best team in the state this year. Link to an X fan saying that? Until T loses in December, it's theirs to lose, even if X waxes them by 32 or more during the regular season.

As I wrote my last post, I thought this too. My initial thought was in line with yours, in that X and T seemed to have separated themselves a bit but in '06 Male dominated both games against X and took T to the wire (and many would say they should have won that game). They were certainly down last year and were beaten by a couple of Hardin Co. schools in '04 and '05, but I'm not sure I'm ready to count them as down and out right now although I think they're heading that way.

jimmy, while I agree with your notion that T has not separated itself (except for championships) from the other two (after all, they have taken three pretty big losses to X over the past 4 years), I don't think I agree with Manual deserving to be included in the Big 3. While they've played all three teams close, they've only notched one win against both T and Male in the last seven years but are yet to have a victory against X. Until Manual is able to win a bit more consistently or make a run in the playoffs, I would refrain from including them in the Big 3.

5 of the last 7 Male/Manual games have been decided by a TD or less. Unfortunately for the Rams, they've only pulled out one victory, but it is a "what have you done for me lately" world and that victory did come last year.

HC lost to Ballard in 2003 and beat them in 2004. In 2005, they spanked Tates Creek 49-7 and lost the following year 20-27. And yes, HC beat Eastern in 2000 but Eastern also beat Lafayette in 2004. I think it's fair to say that Lexington's best 6A team year in year out would be just the fourth best team in 6A in Louisville more often than not and I think Manual would possibly push them to 5th more often than not.

I would probably say Manual would beat Lexington's best more than half the time.

As Falcon previously noted, Holy Cross also did not play them. I just think an insinuation of X backing down from any team is very bold considering that year in, year out they play one of, if not the toughest schedule of anyone in the state.
