Is YouTube PT channel free or do I have to subscribe? I thought it was free like red helmet video?

I don't know much about PT other than following along on here, and watching them from previous seasons. Top notch talent, which means they can overcome mistakes/miscues a little easier than everyone else. I think Mayfield matches up well this year. My one concern would be, and this showed in last year's playoff loss to LCA, that Mayfield has trouble with downhill, power running teams. IMO if Mayfield gets exploited it would be in this area. Their defense is fast but lacks size. It's already been mentioned and I agree that Mayfield needs to keep control of the football, chew clock, and most importantly score when the opportunity arises. I don't see the Cards coming from behind so they will need to maintain the momentum as much as possible. Will need to force some turnovers as well. Going to be a fun game to watch no matter what happens. Cards win by 1 point.

I thought I read the box score wrong when I first saw it. Big win for OC confidence and RPI.

I think Mayfield will be better than last year. By how much, I don't know. And I'm not sure where that puts them relative to the other big dogs.

I didn't realize Graves graduated so many starters from last year. While Houston didn't look good in his playing time at Mayfield last year, there's a difference between playing 5-10 snaps a game versus being handed the keys and being able to play without looking over your shoulder. Maybe he has turned the corner. Tough first game for Graves considering how many new starters they will be breaking in. All in all, they have done a great job of raising the floor for their program. They are fielding a competitive team every season lately, and it didn't used to be that way. Mayfield offense drastically changes depending on who is behind center. Regardless of who that may be, the Cards need to be able to run the ball to have success this year. O-line struggled at times last year. Hopefully they can take a step forward this season. Defense is pretty solid. Cards by 17.

Mayfield players transferring to Graves is strictly a playing time issue. I thought Mayfield screwed up with Acree and not finding a way to get him on the field. I watched him from little league on up and the kid was a playmaker at every level. The Houston kid is another story. I don't think Mayfield will miss him. What little game reps he had last season, I was not impressed. Yes, he is mobile. But his arm and decision making were not there. Sounds like the situation he is walking into at Graves has some weapons, but a relatively new offensive line. Will be tough. He also has another year under his belt, and combined with a fresh start maybe he will make a jump in production. The Martin kid, I watched him in little league as well. Twice as big and fast as every kid out there. Didn't see him play any middle school ball, but to read that he is going to IMG is a head scratcher. I think he would have been much better off staying at Graves as far as playing time goes. Just don't see him as a future D1/NFL caliber player. Graves certainly does have a tough schedule, and their consistency as a program shows. They are more competitive on a yearly basis than they ever have been, IMO.

Mayfield tried to slow the game down, which they did. I believe it was only a 7 point game going into 4th quarter. Calloway had some big stops and fast break points in the final frame. Neither team shot the ball well. Calloway length on both ends gave Mayfield fits. Will be interesting to see how the Lakers fare at Rupp. Mayfield's tallest starter this season was 6'-1". They played Pope ball and relied on volume shooting and getting up and down the floor. They normally have a little more size than this season, but not much. Small and quick is usually their MO. They only had three seniors this season. Two were starters, so they have alot returning.

The only Calloway basketball I have seen this season is the first half of the quarterfinal St. Mary game. They looked darn good. Seem more perimeter focused on offense. The length and size advantage they have on defense really helps. They are tough and the obvious favorite. Mayfield is playing good, confident basketball right now. Are undersized compared to Calloway. I think Mayfield shoots the ball just as well as Calloway. Not so sure about the defense and rebounding. Will take a really strong performance out of Mayfield to get the win. Shooting the lights out, which they are capable of, would be a good start.

Maybe you didn't read game threads from the regional or semifinal matchups Beechwood had, but they got hella love thrown their way. Written off by no one.

Murray didn't really commit to the run until it was time to ice the game then Mayfield got them to punt. Not saying their o-line is really good. I just know with that size leaning and grinding on you all game, it would take a toll at some point. I don't think Murray has a chance, outside of OC committing self inflicted errors.

Caldwell did spread it out in their previous matchup with Mayfield. They just don't have the horses. I was pleasantly surprised with their QB. Good mobility and a nice arm. He looked to be all they had though.

After watching the Mayfield/Murray game, I am baffled that Murray doesn't run the ball more and try to wear the opposing defense down with their big O-line. Chew clock and play ball control. They will need to do that to win this game. I'm sure OC would love to have a track meet.

Not sure why Murray didn’t try and run the ball more behind the big O-line. They were outplayed the entire first half, but punching in the TD and field goal right before half was huge. They had the momentum the entire second half until the last 2 minutes. All they had to do was burn the clock. Murray QB slid too soon on that keeper for a first down. They convert that and the game is over. Credit Mayfield for keeping their cool and making the big plays at the end. I would like to know a penalty count for that game. 25? 30? The refs looked confused everytime a flag flew. Seemed unsure of where to spot the ball at times. Last drive Mayfield had a play blown dead at the last second because a Murray player didn’t have his mouthpiece in. I’ve never seen that happen in my life. The difference I see between this Mayfield team and past Mayfield teams that have been successful, discipline and ball security. Really good Mayfield teams have played smart and didn’t beat themselves. This year there are way too many self inflicted penalties and they are turning the ball over quite a bit. If they play like that against an OC or Beechwood, the outcome will not be good. Just my two cents.

I think Murray had success right before half because mayfield played coverage and rushed 3. Cards need to keep pressure on Murray QB.

Murray had a big first down wiped out by a penalty on last possession, and mayfield just had a TD brought back on a hold. Cards knocking on the door again.

At first glance, Murray’s schedule leaves a lot to be desired. But the game isn’t played on paper. I’m sure Murray will be pumped. Looking to see Mayfield match or exceed Murray’s intensity. If I’m calling plays for Mayfield, I’m giving England the rock all night long.
