The undefeated Aces of Owensboro Catholic host the Tigers of Murray in the second round of the 2A playoffs. This will be some stiffer competition for the Aces but probably still not enough to have a tight game at the end.
Brady Atwell’s offense has been picking apart defenses all year, especially in 2A. Murray may be able to contain them for a bit, but over and over again the Aces dynamic and explosive weaponry has proven too much to handle.
For the Murray offense Wyatt Robbins is the show. He is a double threat quarterback who has had great success throwing the ball while also being one of Murray’s three primary rushers.
Can Murray keep pace with Owensboro Catholic? That’s a tough ask. The Aces look to advance with relative ease, if not another running clock.

Probably be hard to keep Quisenberry of Boyle County from getting Mr. Football but Atwell would be a deserving candidate if he won it.

  • So from what I am hearing, the Lyons kid and Sims kid are both back at full strength.  They were both injured in the O'boro game.

  • He has signed to play baseball for WKU!

I don't see Murray with very much of a chance in this one..A good season will very possibly end early in the 2nd round..

Murray has been known to come to Steele and beat the Aces. I’m pretty sure they have done it a couple of times when OCath is favored. This could be one of those nights.

Depends on the severity of the injured players. If they are all able to play then Catholic will be fine, but if Carrico, Ebelhar, Eaves, Crowe and can't remember the other injured then Murray might have a chance.

Ocath by 27 Murray has had a good year but ocath will dominate Atwell has killed it all season and that Defense fly’s around.

I am amazed that a 6'3", 225 QB with all his accomplishments is not getting more D1 offers. Is there a reason? Does he plan to play baseball in college?

So hear is a question. If he reaches that goal and then they when state, should he be considered the top runner for Mr Football?  There are so many excellent players in the state, just thought I'd get more opinions.  And that is all in 3 yrs.

I would say the same, but what Atwell has done at Owensboro Catholic is a milestone. OC has had a history of really good QB's and he has surpassed alot of records. I know he started some as a Freshmen but his performance in a lot of games have been remarkable.

I hope Vince Carrico can play. If he can't play that will hurt Catholic some on Defense. Is the Sims and Eaves back for Catholic.
