I agree on the schedule but have no idea on the competitiveness.

They are Graves County boys, tough and competitive.

It don't matter if you come to Graves County or you come to Mayfield, you will get all we got. Might not win every game.

Couldn’t agree more with that quote. Graves did graduate some really good players but they also started a lot of sophomores. They have a lot of talent coming back and coming up for the future. People always tend to overlook Graves.

I see 6-8 wins this season.  A lot of production to replace though!

I agree with @PTHSalumni. I see a tough schedule for the Eagles.  They lost a bunch of veteran key players on both sides of the ball.  I see them winning between 5-8 games this up coming season, not including playoffs.  They will be well coached and tough kids so I see them being competitive in almost every game.  Good luck to the Eagles.

This is a very tough schedule, harder than people may think. Starting Mayfield and PT, and then getting Murray who has an opportunity to make a deep run in the 3A playoffs. Can they get to 3 wins before their bye week? Aren't they replacing almost the entire offensive and defensive line? Only go as far as your big boys take you!

I agree in the strength of the schedule. This is about as tough of a schedule as you can get this side of Bowling Green.

I do think the eagles will be very athletic, but they did lose a lot of linemen. They do have Maddox Wiggins returning who did a great job last year. There are some seniors who are finally going to get their chance with some underclassmen pushing for playing time. Graves has typically always had solid offensive lines. I don't see that changing. Probably some bumps early in the season due to lack of expierence but I think they have enough talent to overcome an inexperience line.

I heard they got more talent this week with the Houston kid transferring from Mayfield. That’s the second BIG transfer Graves has gotten from Mayfield in the last few years. The last being SIU commit Lincoln Acree.

Wonder what’s going on, because it use to be the other way around.

I think they will be very good. I am worried as an OHS parent. We do NOT play well at all at Graves Co,  We just don't. I know they don't play well when they come up here.

Getting more athletes from Mayfield will be huge for them. Actually it will help them a ton. Not familiar with the Houston kid, but according to KHSAA he must be a QB. The Gregory kid was a great QB for them, but that is one position they needed to get a transfer.

They also have Raygon Mathis on the team. He’s one of the best athletes in west Ky. Brother played QB for four years and Graves and holds all the records. However, if you play him at qb you lose him everywhere else. Think he broke the schools record for most ints last year.

Graves is always a tough team.  That first district game at home vs Owensboro is a REALLY big game!  Already looking forward to it!
