For the first time in a long time, I watched Mayfield get outplayed. I believe they come out angry and looking for blood. Hopkinsville better bring their A game, still most likely loose by 3 touchdowns if they do. Mayfield by 30.

Paducah might be too deep for Graves. They proved they weren't in shape Friday against Mayfield. If cramps and miscues (Snaps) happen again, they might get clocked. If they stay hydrated, it could be a shootout. It will take a near perfect game for anyone to beat Paducah and those D1 prospects, they aren't a normal West Kentucky team.

Laughable... Graves played the entire second half without half of their OL/DL cramping, not to mention at least three skill guys went out. Credit Mayfield for being in shape 100%, but that's the only thing that slowed Graves down. Mayfield DB's are STILL looking for Acree. Graves had 2 of the top 3 players on the field Friday night. #55 Jackson for Mayfield was the third and Williams coming in 4th. Yes its rare, but for this season, Graves is more talented. Mayfield will obviously grow and make a good run in the playoffs so they will be fine, but the bragging rights for best team this season is in the county.

Graves got lucky Mayfield dropped 4-5 passes... Mayfield got lucky Graves played the majority of the second half at 50% strength (Cramps). I've never seen so many players drop, it was every 2-3 plays someone was cramping up. Before all the cramps, Graves was up two touchdowns and was going to win by 4 touchdowns. Credit Mayfield for being in better condition, but this year, this season, Graves wins 8/10 in a series.

No flak here. One of the best games I've seen in a while, but Graves looked much, much better at times. Graves' biggest threat in this game was conditioning and cramping. Mayfield's biggest threat was #6 Acree. It looked like Graves played the whole second half with a big up offensive line and multiple backups on the defensive side. Game seemed to take forever with so many people going down with cramps. It really seemed Graves either got complacent or completely slowed their offense to give their kids a rest, but before that, Graves was looking to put 50 up on them. Mayfield's DL was fantastic; #55 Jackson was a man out there. Williams is a hard-nosed, hit you in the mouth linebacker but seemed gassed most of the game. If Mayfield wants to be the normal Mayfield this year, their secondary has to get better and get more depth.

Yes @Subway5024 I apologize. I did leave them out by accident. @MBKT I don't see McCracken being as good as they were a few years ago for a while. They had some very good classes back to back, plus Paducah was also down. With that big dog backing the Tornados, it makes it tough for McCracken to get the athletes they had then. A lot of those kids who were going to McCracken at the time, would be going to Paducah if they were in school now. Too many pretty things and excitement around Paducah's program to lure kids there. Paducah is set up for Final Four runs for a while, kids today don't want to build something special if they can just join something that is already there.

I am a big fan of Paducah. Last year, I really thought they would be able to compete with Boyle and perhaps bring it back to WKY. I know they never got a chance to play them, but after the lopsided score Boyle put on Cov. Cath, it was apparent they wouldn't have. Corbin was the closest, but I see a very similar result this season as last. I know Paducah is reloaded and full of talent, but I don't think they are disciplined enough to go toe to toe with Boyle; I'm not sure anyone is talented enough AND disciplined enough to beat them. But I see Paducah running through their schedule, a lot of running clocks and a lot of 50 point games, but I think they have to take a very big step to get over the hump.

We all know about Paducah Tilghman and Mayfield; they have their own thread to talk about, but what about the rest of them? How are ya'll feeling about this upcoming season? Any new comers we should be looking out for? Alot of new coaches in the area; what are your expectations? I guess the money in those two areas are more important than player safety and common sense. It is really sad that we put those coaches and kids through the ringer when it comes to time and travel just so Louisville and Lexington people are pleased... I mean, everyone loves to watch a highly populated 0-10 or 1-9 team make the playoffs and get beat by 50 in the first round right?

This is absolutely genius... which means the KHSAA will probably ignore it. I don't see how they could though. Their main priority is "to limit travel and fix districts by distance." The issue is; it does not benefit the Louisville/Lexington schools. I would love to see the KHSAA take a serious look at this and make this happen in every class. Some of the drive times for Western Kentucky schools are absolutely ridiculous.

Pretty good young player on a down team.

I feel like a lot of people in the two schools had checked out waiting for the merger. I would guess Atchley was given the go ahead for the job when they merged and Clark bolted.
