Graves will definitely be a team you better be ready to play for 4 quarters. Well coached and very physical. They have always been strong but seen some videos on social media of them squatting, these kids are on another level. They pulled out some underdog wins last year vs. Union County and McCracken and are expected to have a big year with a loaded senior class. I'd say anything less than 7 wins has to be a disappointment.

Graves will be able to pull this game out. The defense just held Madisonville to lowest total for the year and if they commit to the run game and control the clock, they will be able to get this much needed win to not finish 4th in the district. Graves 24-21

I think I would give the edge to Union Co in this game. They have played a much tougher schedule and have big physical kids that can dominate the trenches.

Murray High has logged 75,78,70, and 76 SOLO tackles in their first 4 games! This seems high, right?? Can other schools' players compete with these type of stats. Is this a common practice? Who does defensive stats for the teams, team media people or team stat coaches?

This is a big game for the Eagles. They have a tough schedule still ahead and a win here gives them momentum for the next several weeks, but a loss makes every game going forward more difficult. The defense has played really well, better than the scores indicate in first 2 games. The defense can only hold it together for so long if the offense isn't scoring, especially against really good teams. I don't know if the head coach is calling the defense but they play physical while offense seems very flat. Maybe this will be the coming out party for new QB and they get the win. Eagles 35-34

McCracken does have the upper hand in in-game experience with a 3 year starter at QB and several players returning on both sides of the ball. I still think Tilghman is more athletic and better on the Oline but I it will be closer than people expect. It will take a few games for Paducah's offense to start to gel. PT-35 McCracken-21

Graves is in a great spot right now, and a lot of that has to do with the job Coach has done in just his first year. The win vs Mayfield was just different. You can tell those kids wanted it more and were coached to be dawgs! Heading into year two, you can already tell he’s building something special. The culture shift is real — kids are staying home, the team’s playing hard, and now they’re even starting to land a few transfers. That kind of buy-in this early says a lot about the direction he’s taking the program. If they can win 2, maybe 3 out of Mayfield, PT, Owensboro, Murray and McCracken they will be fine. They have a incoming freshman I hear is D1 talent, hope they can keep him around all 4 years.

This is a really good transfer for Graves. Houston made some really good throws in scrimmage games for Mayfield last season when he was given the opportunity to see the field. He always seemed composed and comfortable making plays with his feet. It opens up the offense for Graves and allows Mathis to play WR and stay at safety where he is such a play maker. Is interesting that this is 2nd big transfer Graves has gotten from Mayfield that will make huge impact on the field. New coach must being doing some great things and going to take Graves to the next level. They have the play makers and if they can piece together an o-line, they could win 6-7 games next season which is pretty impressive with a rebuilding year and such a tough schedule.

Was not intending to not give Graves respect. They had a good season last year and Mayfield win was big for them. But this next year will be a rebuilding year for them. I thought Coach Gregory has been there for a long time and came back couple years ago as head coach?

In district 1, there are several coaches that are doing big things. Melvin Cunningham has done really well in his few years at Murray and is set to have a big season in 3A this year, could go 10-0 regular season. Coach Thompson has won lots of games at Paducah put together 2 great seasons with a state championship coming last year. They look to repeat again this season. Union County Coach Johns is another coach that has turned a program around and will try to continue that success this season with their only loss probably coming to Murray High. Coach Dew(Mayfield) had a rocky first year with big loses to Tilghman and LCA, and one might consider it a fluke loss to cross town rival, Graves. Dew looks to bounce back and get some revenge on those teams in year 2 and make a run for a state championship.

Breathitt softened up their schedule by not playing Belfry, Johnson Central and Somerset in 2025. They have some really talented underclassmen(several freshman started) coming back, and only graduated a handful of seniors. Could be a good year for them.

This is a very tough schedule, harder than people may think. Starting Mayfield and PT, and then getting Murray who has an opportunity to make a deep run in the 3A playoffs. Can they get to 3 wins before their bye week? Aren't they replacing almost the entire offensive and defensive line? Only go as far as your big boys take you!
