Graves County makes a 2 hour trip to Eagle Stadium at Apollo. Apollo is 1-1 in district play and 2-4 overall. Graves Co. is 0-2 in district play and 1-5 overall. 

Graves County Wins: Union County               Losses: Mayfield, Paducah Tilghman, Murray, Owensboro, Madisonville

Apollo Wins: Hancock Co, Muhlenberg Co.   Losses: Murray, Heritage Hills (IN), Owensboro Catholic, Owensboro

 

Who Ya Got?

Just like I felt Graves had a good matchup last week against Madisonville, Graves stops the run pretty well for the season, this game will feature a different matchup that doesn't necessarily help Graves. 

Apollo will run some, but they are gonna put the ball down the field, and that's where Graves has struggled if teams have time to throw the ball. 

I can see this being a really good game. Graves has to have some confidence from the near loss last week. 

I don't know where to even begin for a score prediction. If the Graves offense can ever give the defense a break and keep them off the field, I'd be more confident in them. Hard to keep losing time of possession that much game after game. 

These 2 teams seem to be as evenly matched as it can get in district 1. Strength of schedule has been pretty even. I’d say Graves has the best win on the season beating Union county. I can see either team winning but ima go with the Eagles in this one by a touchdown.

I was about to ask the same thing,I’m taking the Graves county eagles in this one.

Graves really played well last week.  I still think Apollo is the better team with more offensive firepower.  Graves struggles against the pass from what I’ve seen and Apollo should exploit that.  Johnson escapes pressure very well for Apollo.  Several talented WR’s for Apollo as well.  Graves offense isn’t good, but can they get it rolling against Apollo’s defense?  Apollo does a good job at taking what’s given by the defense.  These are 2 evenly matched teams, but I think Apollo can score so much more efficiently.  Apollo needs to move the chains, get first downs….I don’t think they have  to score each possession but play field position.

Give Me Apollo 5 to 2 in TD’s.

Ouch - maybe a couple of weeks ago they thought they’d have a good chance….no one wants that round 1.  Huge game for playoff implications here.

Yessir that’s the one I’m picking! I’m 100 percent certain they will take it this yr.

I feel like this is a good even match-up. If the Apollo Eagles want to win their D has to step up. Apollo can win this game they just got to do it. With that said, Graves offense is not very good. I'm not sure if that's because our Defense was good or they are not very explosive on offense. If I'm Apollo I'm loading the box and stopping the run.

Graves will be able to pull this game out.  The defense just held Madisonville to lowest total for the year and if they commit to the run game and control the clock, they will be able to get this much needed win to not finish 4th in the district.  Graves 24-21

I give Graves the defensive advantage and Apollo the offensive advantage. While Graves has a pretty solid D, I still see Apollo making enough plays to put up a few points on the board and while Apollo's D has some flaws, I'm not sure Graves offense is strong enough to take advantage of it. I think Apollo should pull it out somewhere in the 28-21 range.
