REDDEVILMVP'06

Stats will show Devils Wing T up and down the field and SK big played it up and down the field. SK had kids to run passing offense in high school. They were not flashy but were very consistent in passing game. My hats off to this consistency , rare in high school ... Tony Franklin and OC couldn't do it in 2005 state championship , but SK did tonight... The catch the kid made on the last play was something to see and the face mask was obvious.... Devils will be better off in the long run ..

Russell dominated on lines of scrimmage and found a way to lose ... Rare in high school.. SK passing kept them in it and eventually won it .. For rest of 3a , Devils will be going to the 'ville .. 3a is always won at line of scrimmage ..

Watching Boone and Dixie on TV .... Going to be a game for Devils ... Looking forward to challenge ..... This will be real learning experience and confidence builder for Devils ... If Devils win , 3A needs to look out the rest of the way ...

Russell will have to be on their toes this week.... Simon Kenton may only be 3-3 but they have played some good competition up in Northern Kentucky... I believe this will be a good measuring stick of just how good our Devils really are.... Russell needs to come out and jump on SK early to get the crowd into it and make it a difficult and very hostile enviroment to play in...... The team that will win this game is the team that makes the least mistakes and turnovers... Russell is a young team but always well coached and when it comes down to it late in the ball game Russell knows how to get it done... that is something that you can't teach!!!! Russell- 28 SK- 17....... LETS MAKE IT 35 IN A ROW AT HOME!!!!!!! DEFEND THE R... GO DEVILS!!!!!

Will Mercer make the playoffs this year ?

Based upon game with Devils , Lawrence has potential. If time doesn't run out on this season they will put it together one week. Watching Dawgs last week they seemed ready to explode on someone - glad it wasn't the devils. They have the kids in place. Thought they would put it all together against Rowan. Ps ... saw Goldsmith at freshman and JV games this week at Russell , this guy loves kids and football ... Visible leader for Dawgs program- they will get it done ...

Onto next week , season begins. Devils have several good parts going on , will be interesting to see if they can be combined into a entire game against someone who can actually play with the Devils ... Lewis exposed Devils defense has work to do against a team that can execute a offense. While Devil offense learned nothing last night as was too easy ... But agree Lewis played hard and had a good offensive scheme with better execution than LCHS , but with the numbers they are over matched in 3a...

With no disrespect , Lewis has no chance. Has Lewis ever beat the Devils ? Lewis kids play hard , execution is no where near that of Devils. Likely hard to field Middle School and JFL teams in large county with very small population ...

Devils are coming along fine ... By playoff time this team will be much different ... 2005 TEAM won by grinding it out and physical play. 2006 almost won with most of same formula with more big plays along the way. This years team will establish own id and be a challenge for anyone come playoff time ... It's encouraging to know so many eyes are on the Devils ...

Dawgs need reps especially with a busy offense. Devils subs got to play real game conditions , if no body got hurt was win for both teams. Devils reload based upon backups getting time to play in real game situations. Devils also have kids out for football based upon staff get lot's of kids in the game ... all good ..

Just got home ... Dawgs looked pretty good ... Takes alot of skilled kids to sucessfully execute their offense. Few mistakes here and there makes big difference in first downs or punts. Pounding the ball is more predictable ... Devils kind of sleep walking thru this one. Didn't think either side of ball was sharp ... Good win for young kids again building continues .. Lawrence makes you play the entire field including a decent running game. Goldsmith throws nice ball ... End of year this group will be very solid ...

The Dawgs always come out and play hard especially at home... Billy Goldsmith will have his dawgs barking loud and snortin fire as the Devils come to Louisa... I agree with most Russell needs to be on UPSET ALERT!!! If they don't come out and play hard earlier the Dawgs will gain confidence and then it could turn into a real slobberknocker in Louisa........ Jones will need to have a solid game through the air..... look for the Dawgs to put 11 in the box and dare old run first Ivan to put the ball up for grabs where maybe the Dawgs could get lucky and snatch one..... my prediction: The poise and moxy of Jones late in the game makes the difference... he puts the Devils on his back once again and refuses to lose Russell- 21 Dawgs- 17

If Belfry has home run hitter this year they have to be strong contender. If they lack break away speed , beware the Devils who by playoff time will be more than solid and athletic to play with anyone ...

Dawgs best bet is to bully the Devils as they have done in victories of the past. If Devils are more physical , long night for LCHS. Lines of scrimmage will tell the tale here , Devils have lot's of talent that can run with anyone ... Very interesting as a benchmark for Belfry ...

Go Engineers ... Great work ... Always interested in our former friends ...

Must be the fresh air at East Carter ... Devils always grind out a win at East for several reasons mentioned above .... I was encouraged to hear East loaded the box and forced Devils hand a little .... Good for East ... Will help Devils grow , and that's what this season is all about - growing all these new players for playoffs ... Devils have talent

Looking foreward to a regular season game that the Devils really have to compete... Keep going Mason .... Devils haven't had anyone in District regular season to shoot at for years and years ..... Hopefully Grutza stays on the field at Cincy ... In high school you could tell that kid was special

Good for Greenup .... Mahan can play with anyone , big addition to GC and just what the doctor ordered ... Big physical kid who can run ...

Dawgs win ... good .... Looked at write up and stats in paper , what are building blocks for next week .... Offensively ,Defensively ... Did see where couple new kids made impact ... Fishin Dawg - jump in , the water is fine - how about them Dawgs ...

Russell has speed , if you can't run , you don't make the field for the Devils ... East chance is if they can grind it out and keep Devils off the field. If Unsuccessful Devils roll ... Traditionally East has pretty good skills but lines are big and slow .... Again if East can grind it they might keep it close but I doubt it ... Devils win on overal speed , Ivan's execution and kids with lot of playing experience for 3a school - credit to Russell feeders .. Devils 35 East 14 ...

What class is Pulaski ? District game ? Good win ....

Dickie's ok ... He's part of the show. Ashland is lucky to have someone so dedicated to the Tomcats. Where was everyone else from Ashland. We travel more to Putnam for freshmen K Bowl. I really thought Ashland Football looked much better tonight , much less college flash of recent years , just straight forward high school football , they hit , blocked and tackled , where has this been ? ... Ashland may have righted the ship from a coaching standpoint... Russell kids chasing the Tomcat was priceless. I was hoping one would get his tail ...

On to district play for Dawgs and changes in the offense ?

Good high school game , Devils learn more about themselves and still get the W ... Thomas looks more at home at tailback ... Ashland is on a path to win some games .. Much improved , much less dazzle and good soild play ...

Devils .... only way to beat Devils is power game between the tackles and very strong defense of entire field .... Ashland struggling ...
