Congratulations Red Devils. No disrespect but Lewis only had 19 players and of the 19 it appeared that 18 of them played the whole game. They are a team with a lot of guts. It would be nice to see teams with limited players play down a division. Good luck to Lewis County they have a lot of heart.

Really not much to say about this one. Alot of playing time for the JV and Freshman teams for Russell.

 

Lewis Co just doesn't have the numbers. #24 is a nice reciever and the QB throws pretty good. Keep your heads up Lions.

I know it's hard to decipher critical analysis of your team in blowouts like this, but what good and bad did you all take in this one?

 

Did Jones get to rest? Even if he started I figure he prolly was in cheerleader mode fairly quickly.

Jones did play but saw limited action on offense only. I don't think we had any injuries. One thing that did concern me was our pass defense. I think the Lewis QB threw for over 300 yards. I have no stats on how many on the number 1 offense.

From here on out the schedule gets much tougher. Simon Kenton, Mason County and Raceland. That stretch of games should tell alot about this team.

I haven't seen the stats either but I don't think they had 300 yards passing. The JV defense was in early and the freshman were in much of the 4th quarter but 300 would suprise me. #24 is a very good reciever though. He has nice hands and moves well with the ball once he catches it.

 

For Lewis County it has to be hard to run that fast break offense with so few players. This game was like watching UK against Florida during the Mumme era.

This three game stretch will definately be beneficial for the Devils, they also have an open date which will be helpful in getting Jones back to 100%. Russell is 7-0, there is no denying that, and no denying that this will be one tough team in November.
