North Oldham has played a tough schedule. Opened with Frankfort (a talented 1a team). 2nd game was with S. Oldham (4-1), and have also played Danville. They will also have to play Mercer Co. and Newport.

Joe Gamsky #40 is a great all around player. He is a 6'1 215 lb. LB/FB for South Oldham. In the first four games he has 47 tackles, 3 caused fumbles, 2 rec. fumbles, 6 QB sacks, and 4 defended passes on defense. He also has over 400 yds. of offense and 5 td's in 4 games. He is also doing a great job on special teams and blocking for the QB (one sack all year) and RB-see below South Oldham also has an all purpose running back/slot/KR named Seth Gordon #20. He is 5'9 192 and he has over 1000 yards of total offense so far to go along with 11 td's in 4 games.

It is too early to worry about rankings. These ranking don't make that much sense. Here are some examples: South Oldham is 3-1 (lost to a good Shelby Co. team in the last min. by 3 points) is ranked #19. While I did not expect us to be any higher we were ranked higher last year with the exact same record after a 2 point loss to Shelby Co. Example # 2: PRP is ranked #14 in 4A and is 4-0. I don't get it. It is not like they have not played good schools. Example #3: Tates Creek is 4-0 and is ranked behind Mad. Central and Ballard both teams they have beaten. How can you be ranked behind someone if you are undefeated and have already beat them? (this is like ranking Ohio State #2 and putting Texas #1)

Joe Gamsky Ran for 133 yards on 9 carries also had 15 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles. all in one half he did not play the second half

Joe Gamsky had 100 yards on 8 carries and 1 td and 15 tackles on defense, also Seth Gordan HAd 300 yards rushing yards with 4 tds

One Game had over a combined total of 900 yds. offense. For South Oldham Seth Gordon ran for 305 yds. and had 20 yards rec. and 4 td's total. Joe Gamsky ran for 83 yds. and a TD (had 10 tackles on Defense also). In the same game for Fort Knox Xavier Bacon ran for around 270 yds. South won the game 41-27 on the brand new sportsturf field. Fort Knox is much improved and very hard nosed.

Coach Jackson beat many good teams while at Oldham (including a good LEX.CATH team) and will do the same just give him time.

Central Hardin wins this one.

The gametime for this one is at 10:00 AM at South Oldham's new turf field.

This is not what the state needs. We need more time of organized instruction. I do understand the heat issues but waiting until Aug. 1st is not the answer.

Talent alone does not win games.

I agree you must play good teams at the younger levels. That is why South Oldham plays ST. X's JV and Freshmen teams eventhough they are not in the same district.

Franklin needs to be in the top ten. They will be good this year.

If you are looking for a bowl game with turf come out to South Oldham High School this year for the Oldham County bowl. It will be the unveiling of the new turf.

He could play QB but I heard he is going to play DB and WR.

PRP is going to be in the top ten for sure.

I am not sure he will even be their QB.

I usually agree with Mr. Vaught but I must say that Football is so different in than other sports. Numbers matter more in Football. Look back at Paintsville in basketball (I think it was 1997), they won the Basketball State Championship. Now name a single A football team that could have won the 4a state championship title in the last 10 years. I have coached Football, Basketball, and Baseball so I have so don't get me wrong but Basketball and baseball can be won with 2 great players and a few role players. Football is different. Look at the state championships last year (Trinity). Football is a numbers game.

You still have to win once you get into the playoffs.
