Most number of D-1A recruits from a single team

Featured Replies

Which team has had the most D-1A talent in the history of KY high school football? I'm not talking about most D-1A recruits all-time in a school's history, but most playing on an individual team at one time.

Does your question mean on the team in a 4 year span? Like from 2002 thru 2005. Kids that went on to play college football when they became seniors in 2006, but yet were on the team as freshmen. Does it also include D1 AA.

Not saying they would have the most, but the Paducah Tilghman team of 1991 had several future I-A players on it, most of them at Kentucky, and a handful of I-AA players.

The future Wildcats were Billy Jack Haskins (QB), Norman Mason (WR), Kiyo Wilson (DB), Michael Woodfork (FB), Marcus Cross (TE) and Rob Manchester (special teams). Saydee Mends-Cole was a DT at Illinois.

Male has to be up there with the Bush/Barclay/Spencer etc group...

How many did Highlands have with Ben Scott and crew?

That's the first one that popped into my mind. If it goes a couple of years then you have Shmute and Jones too.

If you extend that to the '98 team you have Smith, Grover,Hamblin,Guidugli,Scott, Lorenzon, and Derrick Smith. Wonder why they won so much. They also had Renstatler?? who played at UC. He and Smith were Frosh. weren't they?
