Are you a fan of the Running Game?

Featured Replies

One Game had over a combined total of 900 yds. offense. For South Oldham Seth Gordon ran for 305 yds. and had 20 yards rec. and 4 td's total.

Joe Gamsky ran for 83 yds. and a TD (had 10 tackles on Defense also).

In the same game for Fort Knox Xavier Bacon ran for around 270 yds. South won the game 41-27 on the brand new sportsturf field. Fort Knox is much improved and very hard nosed.

Yes, "The WishBone".

:thumb: I agree Alabama Larry!!! I love to watch the Bone. We ran the bone when I was in high school. Fun to block out of. Pulling guards used to be a skill.

Yep!!!!!

Wing T all the way from our little part of the state.:thumb:

Got to be able to run effective to win.

Cville, I used to run it as a "sandlot QB". Drove them crazy. Boy it was a funtime to be a Bama fan back in the 70s.

I am a big fan of the running game, about half of the time, then put it up the other half.

Running is essential to a good ball club. I beleive in the Ground and Pound offense to an extend. I do however believe in the pass. I like to see a good QB drop back and rifle balls to a target. (not to be mistaked with throwing it up and letting the receiver make the play ) Thant is much more exciting to me than 4 yards a carry in the run.

Which breaks a Defense faster idk? but i think if you can keep the ratio close between the two and do it well I believe your a hard team to beat.

In that case, you would LOVE to watch Mercer Co. They run it and run it and run it and run it....to perfection.

My thoughts exactly!!

Anytime is a good time for Alabama football. We ran the bone in high school (70's) but I think we invented the spread offense when we played playground ball. I remember the QB telling the WR go to the swing set and & cut across the middle. Tony Franklin would have been proud!!!

YES. Alambama Larry is right on. High school football is the last chance for a team who simply has the guts to be tougher than the opposition. At the college level it is all about speed.

I love teams like Russell, Belfry, Bell Co., Danville, and the rest who essentially turn the game into a battle of toughness. From a fans perspective, nothing is more moving than seeing a team come together, and beat a more talented team thru heart and desire.

We're from Russell, of course we love the running game.
