Russell & their slow pace offense is their best defense or at least thats what helps them in pts allowed/game. they only shoot once every 2 minutes so the other team doesn't get much opprotunity in the pts allowed/game

61st may be one of the weakest 5 Districts in the state, and looks to be that way for the next few years at least. Its like an automatic bid to the Regionals for Rowan each year.

Were the KOB teams that RH beat a bit overrated & now we are seeing the true RH team now that they are playing a little better teams? Raceland, Ashland

Russell always seems to have a grade school score in the 1st half of all their games. Then an explosive 3rd quarter for a big lead and the 4th is used to take the air out of the ball & hold on to the win. IMO

Chris is playing great in his role & Timmy is exceptional especially when you remember he is only an 8th grader. Maynard can flat out shoot but he is lucky if he gets 2-3 shots a game even when he is open. The pass does not seem to come his way nearly as often as it should. They will need this against good teams & will need both Knipp brothers to keep performing as well as they are now.

I thought this would be some really good games to see. How is the new gym at Montgomery? Hopefully maybe some 16th teams can get in this next year maybe Elliott, Rose Hill or Ashland.

Whats tho Old saying "Old Guy" "If it walks like a duck & quacks like a duck then it is a duck" I understand your comments but it will always be the Class A State Tournament. As far as favorites I'll say UHA & BB, I would give Elliott or Paintsville if they win the 15th just as good a shot as JBS. Plus JBS has to get by Hazzard in the 14th.

From his recent history in the 16th Coach Flynn doesn't need to do much different if his plans are to play stall ball. If he does Coach Hicks will just apply the defensive pressure even more to create the tempo . Scott by as much as Coach Hicks wants.

I enjoued watching the game and I thought Lex Cath gave apretty good account og themselves. I also think they could have done better if not for the hard fought game against Lafayette on Friday night. Is Mayo really that unselfish or just doesn't like to expose his outside shooting weakness?

Stat wise he may be outperforming the Knipp kid but Knipp does bring more to the defensive side of the ball and the team is doing well with the new lineup so you cannot disagree with that. Maynard needs to continue to work hard & bring more effort on "D" which I think you will see going forward.

It probably did at first the way it would any player at any level all the way thru the pro's. Just last night on UK's game the announcers made the comment about a Miss St player making the comment in the newspaper that he should be starting. All kids feel that way and most coaches want them to. However I think you will see a kid in Maynard that will only work harder & be more determined than ever. As far as a team player he is probably more of a team player than anyone they put on the floor. All the kids are playing hard & doing well so lets not start turmoil. As Ronald Regan said to Jimmy Carter in those famous debates I will say to you Sportsfan 1977 "There You go again" No need for such a comment

I am Sure they will starting next year and so on but not this year with so many Freshmen & Sophs. Have to bring them along a little slowly to help them mentally. They played in Corbin Tourney in December plus this is Virgie and if you know anything about Virgie basketball you know they always played down state against top competition.

Should be a good one and I wish I could see it. I will go with the home team by 8, SL 67 MC 59. Do MC and Scott Co play in regular season?
