Best defense in 16th Region

I would argue that Russell has the best defense in the 16th Region as measured by Points allowed per game as well and Steals/Blocks & Charges. Here are my Top 5 "defenders" in the Region:

1. Russell

2. Greenup

3. Rowan

4. Raceland

5. Ashland

 

My all Region defense includes Robinson & Gill - Russell, Martin - Rowan, Phillips - Raceland, and Brown - Greenup.

I haven't seen Morgan and know they are down a little right now, but it is hard for me to believe that Coach Perry's team is not on the list. Uptempo kinda hurts them in the points allowed per game department, but we all know good defense is played in different ways.

Ashland plays an aggressive, physical man to man defense, sometimes press, but give up very few foul shots. I would have to put them at the top.

Ashland is unbelievably impressive on the defensive end. They put the clamps on Rose Hill while only allowing 4 free throws.

Russell & their slow pace offense is their best defense or at least thats what helps them in pts allowed/game. they only shoot once every 2 minutes so the other team doesn't get much opprotunity in the pts allowed/game

Elliott needs a little lve here. They play uptempo and steals seem to make the offense go. I agree they are a little weak in the post due to size. But they feed off their defense.
