The receivers will be a question mark for a while because of the inexperience. Hesch will need some reliable receivers for Newport to get anywhere in the postseason hopefully they come around by then.

My favorite helmets of today would be Bellevue, Highlands, and Covington Covington Catholic. On a side note the helmet I disliked the most were Newport's a few years back when they had that ugly Kansas State panther on the side.

I love the stadium it is definitely going to be top notch in my book.

Well of course it will be a lot harder for Hesch to throw 9 TD's in a game again. He lost his top 3 recievers in Thomas, Huston, and Atkins and the leading returning receiver from last year only had 6 receptions.

Yes he used to attend Newport but has since moved on to Louisville and will be attending Louisville Southern High School. He most definitely is the real deal a very solid all around player. I expect great things out of him in multiple sports down in Louisville. Good luck Ark!!!

Newport's JV squads normally don't fare to well so I'm sure Holy Cross was able to score at will. If the varsity D hasn't improved at all since last season that will be their achille's heal this season as well.

#44 for Bellevue is Justin Ross and #35 is Adam Tague.

They scored 4 times on Newport's varsity team? Or are we talking about 4 touchdowns against the Varsity, JV, and Freshman squads?

Harris has a cannon the only concern with him is will he be healthy the entire year. If so, I look for Vicars and Harris to lead the Breds back to the state championship.

So whats the reason Murray isn't playing is he injured or just not playing at all? How did Scotty Gray look?

It seems like every year the Birds are very deep in the backfield. Hopefully they'll be able to bring another state championship back to the fort.

Ryne Wilfong of Newport made the Coaches All Star 2nd Team last year for punting. I believe he averaged around 40-45 yards per punt. I'm assuming he'll take over the place kicking which was Atkins job last season.

Isn't Diehl injured right now with a broken foot?

The top incoming freshman I know of are Arkansas Brewer now at Louisville Southern and Brandon Tucker from Newport. Both are good basketball players and have a very sound fundamental game.

The tryouts for Kentucky Colonels 18 and under select team will be August 5-6 at St. Henry High School. 10 A.M on August 5 and noon on August 6 I believe you have to contact either Walt Terrell or Dennis Tarney.
