I just wanted to give some love to some players, who play for programs other than the ones I follow, who play hard and play football the right way!!! Who might not get the amount of publicity of some other players.

 

 

Justin Collins, RB Lou. Western

Kyle Southwood, OL Newport

Marcus Patterson, WR/DB/QB Casey Co.

 

These were just a couple I thought of off the top of my head, who are some other returning players from other programs who always play hard and tough.

Paul Downs, RB/OLB Bardstown

Kent Simpson, FB/ILB Bethlehem

Ryan Smart at Pulaski SW should have a chance to play at the next level.

 

Kyle Carter at Lawrence Co hasn't gotten a lot of pub but I wouldn't doubt it if he playes D1.

 

Dylan Grandon has started QB at North Oldham since his Freshman year, he will be a Jr and should have a solid season.

 

Jacob Locknane at Lex Cath gets overshadowed by some of the skill name guys but he is one of the better LBers in the state.

I agree with Kyle Southwood. He is a big kid who has been a starter on Newports line the last two years. He is very strong and underrated.

Matt Metts, Wingback-Strong Safety, Dunbar.

Sean Nolan is a junior offensive and defensive lineman for Corbin who I expect to have a breakout year this season.

Williamsburg's Aaron Root. Already proven at linebacker (SEKC LB of the Year in 05), but should be a very pleasant surprise for the Jackets at Fullback. Also, look for Tyler Rollins to have a big year at DE.

I guarantee you that every QB and RB that W'burg plays this season will be looking to see where he is on every play before the snap. His tackle numbers from last season were just sick. He obviously has a nose for the football and can finish when he gets there.

I can think of a few, try half the Trinity Football Team from last year! There is about 30 of them on this years team and quite a few of them would start on alot of other teams through out Ky.

We all know Trinity has a fine program but we are not going to turn threads into T/X mine is bigger threads.

Not trying to go that direction at all! I don`t see the connection???

 

Some of the players are 1) Agyer Williams (speed to kill) 2) Brian Hart 3) Kyle Flynn 4) Reid Hall 5) Dane Spoelker OT / DT ( had a nice clean tackle in the big game 6) Luke McDermott DT 6) Sam Robby O/T to name a few.

 

There will be a few more names that will surprise some people

Thunder, thanks for your kind words about the Root kid. We have followed him awhile and really have enjoyed watching him develop not only into a fine football player but a wonderful young man!

For St X, on offense the most underrated would be Daniel Passafiume (WR). I think you will see a couple of the new defensive guys step out of the shadows. With 11 new starters, one ore more of these guys will shine during the year. Pat Bisig (MLB) Harrison Huelsman (DB), Nick Heuser (LB) , and Brad Schmidt (DT). Saw the following on Scout.com or insidetheville.com a little while back: St.X High School will feature one of the state's best this fall in senior running back Vic Anderson, but the Tigers may also have one the hidden gems that surface during the '06 season in defensive end Bradley Schmidt.

After entering high school at 6-foot, 160-pounds, Bradley Schmidt has added nearly 3 inches and 70 pounds to his frame and now easily passes the 'eye test' for a potential college defensive end or tight end.

After turning in a strong performance at the Scout.com All-American Combine last Saturday, Schmidt ...

Everyone knows to watch out for Anderson, but from some things I hear, I believe the key to this season may be that the defense could be very good IF all 11 new starters can gel quickly.
