The top incoming freshman I know of are Arkansas Brewer now at Louisville Southern and Brandon Tucker from Newport. Both are good basketball players and have a very sound fundamental game.

Zac Lother at Highlands only won MVP of the State Tournament last year for 8th Grade Division. He seems undersized but obviously had game and a big heart. I look for him to get bumped up.

Dakotah Euton (6'6" or so), Chad Jackson (6'3" or so), and Kyle Bair (6'0" or so) made their presence known as eighth graders at Rose Hill. The next four years should be interesting.

Can anyone confirm an inbound frosh @ McCreary Cen.

Darnell Davis (HOPKINSVILLE) 6'3 180 got some varsity action as a 8th grader last year. Moved here from Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. Good looking athlete and coachable. Davis is also a good looking prospect for the Tigers football program.

Watts is a really nice player. One of the best freshman in the state. I would say he is 6'0 with a nice shooting touch, good handles, and athletic enough to get to the rim. He will a very exciting player to monitor the next four years. In order for him to get some Mr. Basketball status he will have to will his team to the state tournament and the coaching staff will have to allow him to play some AAU ball with some of the traveling teams throughout the summer. It would also benefit him to play the best competition in the area. The last couple of seasons McCreary's schedule has not been that strong.

Boone Co. has a great group of incoming freshmen.

Austin Flannery 6' probably the best shooter in the state in this class, Andy Earls 6'6" a strong big man, Ryan Popp 5'8" & Mikey Gabbard 5'9" two of the best point guards in the state in this class. These four played JV ball this summer with Boone and dominated the competition. They also got several minutes playing varsity and all performed very well, especially the big man Earls.

Flannery, Earls & Popp play on the D-One KY Patriots 14U AAU team with the Rose Hill boys (Euton, Jackson & Bair), these six boys are the core of the Patriot team; they've been together since 6th grade. The Patriots have won the Div 1 AAU State Championship the past three years and are picked as one of the top Div 1 AAU teams in the nation.

This group will make some noise the next four years.

Covington Holy Cross has a 6'6 250+ center, I think his name is Brandon Bass. Brother off former HC girl star Britney Bass who plays at Morhead State now.

Strong freshman class this year with Boone Co probably being the best. Dixie and Highlands are not too far behind. Holy Cross and Ryle should also be very solid.

Interesting to see how many of these freshman at Boone will actually play freshman ball.

How are the other frosh teams in the 9th & 10th regions?

I would assume that the Boone Co Frosh if they do play many varsity minutes will have to adjust to some losing. They are not used to this so mentally they will be a part of some losing situations and they will have to look at their time in the Varsity spotlight as a growing experience. I would have to imagine by the time these guys are Jr's... they will be tough to beat. Period.

I hear there are a group of freshmen coming into Gallatin Co. this year that have some real talent---Zac Jones--prolific scorer, Bryce Carlton-Great court vision and unbelievable handles, Nate Brown-good size and athletic ability, Joel Carlton-great nose for the ball and tenacity, and Jake Giles-scrappy and above average on the ball defender. This group lost a total of 11 games since 6th grade. Couple these boy's with the current varsity roster should make for some good basketball from this northern ky team.

BASS ???? Sounds like a WHALE of a player!
