After watching Carroll Friday night against Gallatin, I think Carroll could go to more of a spread offence and let their QB take over games, instead of running off tackle 90% of the time, and they could play with most anybody on their schedule. But will have to pick Ludlow against the ultra concervative CC.

I am a big fan of the running game, about half of the time, then put it up the other half.

You are right, there is alot more pressure on Friday night, but the Cats have none of it on them. This is the first year and they have nothing to loose and everthing to gain.

Gallatin's middle school sets the tone for Friday nights game with a 16-8 victory in Warsaw.

Is that the same defence that gave up 33 points a game last year. I'll go out on a limb and take the up start Cats from Gallatin Co.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I started running the spread about 3 years ago with my sons 3rd & 4th grade team, and we had great success. I have since moved on to coach our middle school team and am installing it there. I went to the spread because we always had more smaller atheletes then big stud linemen. By spreading the field and reading the defence and taking what they gave use we were able to control the tempo of the game. We run from the spread about 60-70% of the time. By doing this the db's start playing up looking for the run then you go over the top of them. We ran this with a 3rd grader at qb from no huddle most of the time, it does involve alot of practice time but can be run at any level. Thanks again for the imput.

I went thru your list and seems Gallatin Co. is not on it. This will be thier first year of varsity and according to the link they will be at 188 boys which would place them in Class A. Please correct if I missed them.

He is not saying Hazard won the All A but that Hazard is a Class A school, the only one in the sweet 16, I had to read it again myself.

IMO alot of public schools do not have the off season programs that your better private school teams have in football and do not use the spring practice properly. And that comes down to coachs being willing to put the time in to do the job.

Seems like nothing is good enough for some people. I went up to watch a couple first round games at Ryle and felt their gym, while nice, is to small for such an event. I would love to see the 8th move it around from school to school but you then run into the same problem with seating. Maybe next year we can have some annoying intermission music to help bring the 8th up to par.

Great season cats, Tough lose to a good team. Looks like with the youth and the expereance they gained this season, this team should come back even stronger next year.

No I cant wait to see SK play and to be honest if comes down to SK and Shelby I will be pulling for SK. I just get tired of hearing this one guy complain about how week the 8th is and how great the 9th region is. I look forward to watching SK play, and hopefully GC will be playing them Friday nite.

Why don't you move your alliances to another school, so you can stay in the great 9th region.
