Mack The Knife Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Wildcats cut a 40-30 lead to 44-43 with 2:55 left. Still trailed just 51-47 with 1:30 remaining, but turnovers on next 2 posessions snuffed Gallatin's chances. Freshman Trent Maddox scored 22 to the Cats who bow out at 19-10. With just 1 senior, 3 juniors, 3 sophomores, and 2 frosh in their rotation the future looks bright for Coach Jones' team.
Jim Schue Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Tough ending to a great season for the Wildcats. Glad I got a chance to see you guys earlier this year. Go out and get better for next year!
FarBeyondDriven Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 This was a good experience for such a young team . They should be back for the next several years. Would not be surprised if Gallatin turns out to be one of the 8th regions top 5 teams next year ( Shelby,Oldham,Simon Kenton,Gallatin, etc...) Sorry if i left anyone out.
crazedcat Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 simon kenton will be stronger next year getting the daughtery kid from walton. But gallatin will definately be back next year and i believe they will be a much stronger force.
CrestwoodKnowitall Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 How does one go from 1 school to another and then play... isn't that the dreaded "R" word in high school sports?
crazedcat Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I dont think that is the case, walton is going to be way down next year and he thinks he will be a help and play on a winning team at SK. I cannot say that i would blame him.
CatFanatic Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 ^While I would hate to see that happen, that is not the topic of this thread. Congrats to Gallatin County on a nice season. The future looks pretty bright in Warsaw.
OlBallCoach Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Great season cats, Tough lose to a good team. Looks like with the youth and the expereance they gained this season, this team should come back even stronger next year.
crazedcat Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Lets hope so coach.. this team worked very hard this year people told them they would be lucky to win 8 games and they won 19. There is plenty room for improvement though. this is a tough group of young kids and i think they will work hard over the summer to improve their game.
captain Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 from what I saw the cats had their chances , to many missed layups a few TO'S to many in the 2/nd . Great season for them they should be one to beat next year, hate to see Davis not play one more game
MysteriousOnes Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 simon kenton will be stronger next year getting the daughtery kid from walton. But gallatin will definately be back next year and i believe they will be a much stronger force. Oh, really?
captain Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 yes really ,,,thats talking @ the all A,,really they miss several lay ups in the half and was told when I got there that they missed several in the first did you see something different?
CatFanatic Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 ^I think his question was in reference to Daugherty going to SK.
captain Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 thanks Cat , couple of posts behind. What your thoughts on the all A next year? You know I think WV can play with the teams that they'll face in it .
CatFanatic Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 ^Different thread. I don't want to take away from what GC accomplished this season. I'm like you, it would have been nice to see Davis play a few more games.
