spillywilly Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I was trying to think of the top players coming back this year. A couple of players stood out to me, ofcourse Mike Hester from Simon Kenton, and Franklin Daugherty from Walton. Then there is Cody Perkins in Gallitin and they also added Nate Edmunson from Holmes. But I was looking for some other impact players this year.
Mack The Knife Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Let's start with Chambers, Wade, and Cochran from Shelby County.
uknowho1 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Top 5 in 8th 1 Mike Hester, SimonKenton- One of the quickest guards in state. Terrific ball-handler and good court vision. If he gets hot from behind the arc he's almost impossible to guard. Downfall- Size. 2 Israel Chambers, Shelby Co- Great body for a banger down low. Very tough on the boards with a really nice touch around the basket. Downfall- quickness 3 Eugene Wade, Shelby Co- He's 6ft, 8in enough said. He puts fear in anybody coming in to the lane with his shot-blocking. Plays well above the rim. Downfall- any kind of offense other than dunking. 4 Josh Elbert, Simon Kenton- A terrific rebounder and very athletic. Also is pretty good at creating for teammates with his dribble. Good defender as well. Downfall- very hot or cold shot. 5 Shawn Stiles, South Oldham- Good at everything and very good at some but not great. Fundamentaly very sound and a great leader. Downfall- size.

He is a nice player but I feel that the others size and ability in your top 5 way over shadow his capability to be the best player in the region.

There's no doubt that Hester is the best player in the 8th.

uknowho1 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006  Say something meaningful. The kid finished 2nd in voting for 8th region player of the year last season and will sure to be preseason player of the year this year. So i guess you find that funny. :sssh:
spillywilly Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 I agree with the list except for Wade besides his size he has no other skills. I watched him while he was at Carroll and saw him last year in the regionals, and just am not impressed. I belive there are alot of players that are better all around players then Wade and therefor they should be on the list above him.

I had to put him in for his size and athletic ability especially on defense. What would be your top 5?

Due to his size he won't be sought after by higher level schools but he's one heck of a HS player. I would love to know how many points he needs to pass Jeff Krohman, he may be able to take over career honors.

He has a ways to go to catch Krohman.
Wildcat Legend Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Whatever list you have better include Edmonson from Gallatin or all your telling me is you know nothing about the game!!!!
Just Jim Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Whatever list you have better include Edmonson from Gallatin or all your telling me is you know nothing about the game!!!! Is Edmonson eligible? In another thread someone stated that he was just ruled ineligible.
Wildcat Legend Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 He will be fine---A wise man once told me "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see".
