Gallatin County 7 Carroll County 6

Featured Replies

Jesse Florence hit Scott Brown in the end zone from 15 yards on 4th down with 9:04 remaining in the game. Josh Giles converted the XPT for a 7-6 lead. Giles then intercepted a pass at midfield with 2:52 left and Gallatin chewed up the clock behind the hard running of Jared Carlton, who picked up a 1st down on 3rd and 5 with 1:30 left.

Congrats to Coach Tim Browning and his staff and all the players.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches and fans in Gallatin Cty for their 1st victory over their arch rival Carroll Cty. Make sure you send us the tape..

Good luck the rest the season..

Congrats Gallatin on your first ever varsity win.

Congrats on your 1st win! If memory serves me, GC had a pretty good JV squad last year. This likely isn't going to be GC's only win this year.

Sounds like the Carroll County O struggled.

Gallatin dominated the line of scrimmage on defense just as they did on the JV level last year. Plus they have big time speed in the secondary. The Panthers score was on a 60 yard punt return. I don't remember them running too many plays in Wildcat territory.

Heard the game on the radio and Carroll was struggling on both sides of the ball. Congrats to Gallatin Co.

You heard it right..Carroll had 41 yards rushing and 4 first downs. Their defense didn't play all that bad but, to GC's credit, gave up too many 3rd and 4th down conversions (i.e. the 4th and goal from the 15 TD). Carroll's offense is very predictable to say the least. They have a talented QB who, most of the night, was just turning around and handing it to someone off-tackle and it just wasn't working. They need to utilize him more with some draws and option plays and get some play action into their non-existent passing game.

Have to agree with you, there. Too much athleticism for that kind of play calling.

Nice game by the so called "little cats", outplayed a more experienced team on both sides of the ball. Great win GC.

:thumb: to the cocky upstart cats, as they were called in a Previous post. Both teams played very hard fought game.
