Augusta and Deming start their seasons in Augusta Tuesday night. Both teams are coming into the Year with some young players. I will pick Augusta in this one.

Augusta beat Silver Grove something like 59-42 I beleive. Augusta looked good the first two quarters. Brayde Hamilton led Augusta in scoring. 3rd Quarter was for the JV players. In the last Quarter Augusta did not as sharp.

Brayde Hamilton from Augusta, I think he will show up big for Augusta this year. Also have a group of Juninors looking to break out also.

Augusta will be there, I just do not know who they play. I think Silver Grove. Augusta also has another scrimmage against Dayton on the 24th at Augusta.

Looks like people are picking the Royals, I am not sure if they LIKE the Royals. I will pick them to be one of the top three.

Augusta also has a Orange and Black Night, Its in november and it includes the middle school also. It allways brings in another big crowd.

No Mason Co. is in a different conference. They did win their conference I belive.

Augusta has one, school is k-12. We do get some kids from St. Augustine School in Augusta, they tend to filter out to St. Patrick (Maysville), Bracken Co. and Mason Co. St. Augustine kids play at Augusta during 6th-8th grades.

Yes it is for both teams and it has been very successful. Seems to bring in bigger crowds each year.

Augusta held their 3rd annual MIDNIGHT MADNESS last night. It was alot of fun and the team looked good. It should be a exciting year to be a Augusta Panther fan.

St. Patrick and Fleming Co. Split ORVC Tournament Championship Games St. Patrick wins the 7th Grade Championship Game 32 –25 over Fleming Co. In the 8th Grade Championship Game results were flipped with Fleming Co. winning 39-28 over St. Patrick Fleming Co was also the Conference season Champs for both 7th and 8th Grade and St. Patrick placing second. Here is a few Players the stood out to me in this Tournament and will soon be making an impact at the High School level over the next few years Chelsea Douglas, Kaitlyn Yeary, and Wallace Stanfeild of St. Pat. Mandy Boyd, Robby Allex, and Alex James of Fleming Co. Brandy Evans, and Shelby Wade of Nicolas Co. Kelsey Carmack, and Jessica Mitchell of Deming Alley McGee, Morgan Ravensceraft, and the Conn Girls of Lakeside Christian Sara Sticken, and Emma Conley of Bracken Co. Best of luck to all of these girls, They made this Tournament very enjoyable to watch.

Augusta will have a strong 8th Grade team and 7th grade will be ok, will play a few 6th graders. Fleming County should have a good 8th grade team also

Flannigan plays at Calvery Christian, and Steven Pelle is from Silver Grove. I am not sure if either are top 10 players. Flannigan is very good, but does not have much of a supporting cast. Steven Pelle is a cousin of Cory Pelle, he impressed me two years ago as a sophmore but struggled at times last year. I think Dustin Staggs is a top ten player, if not then he is not far below it.

Dont get me wrong, I like Deming but I also think they are in the bottom two this year. But they have a young bunch that will be tough. The top teams PC and HC can one or two.

I have overheard something to that effect also. Not to sure what the problems are but I hope the team can get it together.

I don't know if a team can stop her as much as she will stop herself. She needs to keep out of foul trouble. She is going to have to work on positioning herself to when she makes contact that it does not look intentional. It is hard for her to make a little contact without making it look like alot. I look for her to have alot of big games this year.

Alot of people thought that last year too...I wonder how many party supplies they left over from last year.

Is hard to belive that not one Bracken Co. Player is listed. Kauniui, Figgins, and Ahrens are fine players. I know they might not make everyones top ten list but are as good as many names listed above.

I am not sure when he played, but it was some time ago. But when it comes to top players from Augusta I do not recall seeing Jim Fraysure mentioned. I was talking to someone the other day and he said he was one of the best all around athletes to come through Augusta. Does anyone know about him? I know he has a grandson that is now a freshman at Augusta that shows some potential.

I have seen them play all but of a couple of the summer games, including the camp games. This will be a good year for A-town. There is still work to be done but that is the case on every team. Shooty Staggs had a very good summer. Chris Mofford really surprised me at times with his ball handling and footwork. The Guard positions I feel will be fine with both Shawn White and Derrick Fryman. Shawn has a tenacious attitude and will give a lot of players fits. Joey Crouch also played well all summer. Brayde Hamilton is still the most Athletic on the team, he does tend to play out of control at times. Ty Krebs, Ryan Kelsch, and Jo Jo Gray will all add too this teams success. Ryan does have a nice shot (he is a Kelsch) , Jo Jo is also a decent scorer and good rebounder. I was really happy to see him commit to playing over the summer. Ty Krebs is strong player and has a good inside and outside game. There are a few younger players that will help this team out. We will miss one of our incoming juniors, Justin Hargett who hurt a knee and recently had surgery. Good luck Justin and god bless you with a speedy recovery.
