I was toying with the notion of putting the Deming 2nd but there are a couple of uncertain tangibles like can the King Twins handle the pressure as freshman to take on the load of turning a so-so team into a contender? Will they have a supporting cast with the rest of the starting 5. They won't have T-Mass this season as in the past they seem to want to go to a one person offense which has hurt the team in the past.

Coach Johnson I know wants to change that this team can play with ANYONE in the region be it Mason County or whoever but they're just not there yet.

That is what I was thinking also when I was deciding where to put Deming, but in the end I think Deming will do fairly well as long as the do not rely on a one person offense.

As for the 39th, Unless everyone at Mason transfers out Mason is still top dog.

38th:

1. Harrison County(Until someone beats them their the best in a weak district)

2. Pendleton County(Maybe the only team in the district to challenge Harrison County)

3&4 spots are a toss up but heres what I had

3. Nicholas(Really thought about this and I based this on last year's district game. Nicholas without Willoughby(their best IMO) and Wade and playing with what looked to be their future team played with the Devils and showed they still and fight in them against the odds giving them the edge)

4. Deming(Just not enough basketballs on the court to satisfy the players)

39th:

1. Mason County(My pick to win Region)

2. St. Patrick(I think they are the team to beat in the All A)

3. Augusta(Have a real tough group of soon to be Juniors but a tough district places them where they are)

4. Bracken County(Hit hard by graduation but I think the younger players will still be competitive)

Only time will tell, it may take a while for this team to gell as a team, with the loss of Massey and Graves, everyone seems to be zeroing in on the King Twins to lead the team. Those boys show no fear against who ever their playing and that's how Massey started out as a freshman so, I say I'll wait till the first horn is blown before I try to make any predictions.

No way Deming to be put on the bottom. Because Nicholas is more inexperienced than Deming is.

Dont get me wrong, I like Deming but I also think they are in the bottom two this year. But they have a young bunch that will be tough.

The top teams PC and HC can one or two.

Pendleton beat Harrison co @ Harrison co in summer ball

Coach Kendall wrote an article about multi sport athletes in HC this past summer. Many players have to chose between baseball, basketball, and football during the summer time, thus summer games don't always show how good a team will be in the upcoming year because the majority of the time all of the players aren't there. I think the Breds will be fine this year and add another district title to the banner up on the hilltop. I also believe that Pendleton will represent the 38th with HC in the 10th Region Tourney.

Pendleton county will win the 38 in 08, virtually four starters return from a team that if you took away "HurriKane" had no previous varsity experience last year. The team took their lumps throughout 07 but I think those hits will pay dividends in 08. Look for Harden, Feeback, Lambert and Greene to really step up their play this year.
