Well basketball has been open for almost a week now... I was wanting to hear about how you think your teams look early on? Anybody excited about what they see/hear? Any disappointments?

CCH hasn't started yet.

I believe alot of teams start tryouts, but also have to wait until football is over to look at those players who are playing basketball. I'm sure doesn't effect many but it could make a difference at some schools.

At Ashland we have to wait on several....

Looks like Mason has a head start, with all the returning "starters" from the summer practicing. It looks to be an unbelievable year.

Simon Kenton might be slow out of the gate due to several injuries, but hey, March matters.

Augusta held their 3rd annual MIDNIGHT MADNESS last night. It was alot of fun and the team looked good. It should be a exciting year to be a Augusta Panther fan.

Is your MIDNIGHT MADNESS for both boys and girls teams? How successful is the event? I know Augusta is small, but they always support their teams.

Yes it is for both teams and it has been very successful. Seems to bring in bigger crowds each year.

I think it was bigger this year. This year's Midnight Madness went pretty well.

I wish all schools would have this kind of event so we could see the upcoming teams, and cheerleaders and get ready for the b-ball season.

Owsley has this kind of event. They call it maroon/white night. It is coming up November 9th. It's a great event and it usually brings a huge crowd.

Owsley County's been doing Maroon/White Night for about 15 years. It's not just for the high school teams....the junior high and elementary is involved too. The county really gets pumped up for this night. Since we don't have football this is the BIG kickoff event of the year.

Gallatin County has the annual blue/white scrimmage in early November. Usually draws a pretty good attendance.

Augusta also has a Orange and Black Night, Its in november and it includes the middle school also. It allways brings in another big crowd.
