Just checked fox sports ohio and Bluejackets hockey has been replaced by "to be announced". Maybe we'll have Bluebirds in Western KY. after all! Don't think I'll be the only one watching from BG tonight if you know what I mean.

I'm taping the hockey game and hoping the football game magically appears when I get home. Otherwise it will be the first time I,ve tivo'd a NHL game.

I've scanned my 995 channels on cable here in Bowling Green and can't find the game. Thought it would be on fox sports south or fox sports ohio but they have some other Ohio prep game listed. Any one have a clue as to who is broadcasting this game? Thanks in advance.

Does Homer Rice have a Centre connection? Know he has HHS, Georgia Tech, Bengals roots. By the way, when is kickoff for the colonels ? May do the Centre/ UK doubleheader if time permits. While I'm off topic, any way your husband could make a guest appearance on Kentuckypreps. Just took a peek on preps and our birds are getting ravaged over the Mitchell ruling. Lots of misinformation but one bird friendly fan is putting up quite a fight.

Great news!! Even though Mr.Mitchell is playing for the Raiders now, maybe the KHSAA would allow him to come back and play in the opener against Boyle Co. since he missed out in playing them in the state championship game. Sure seems like it's the least they could do. Obviously just kidding!

I've checked this thread at least a dozen times waiting for LN's post game summary. You'd think he'd feel some sort of moral obligation to the bluebird faithful to post within a reasonable period of time (2 -4 hours) post end of game. I've already got my dad who coached high school ball and brother who played for the birds post game summary but still can't feel secure putting last nights game to rest until I get LN's synopsis. Guess he feels like he's got more important things to do. Probably watching his kid play for the "praying colonels" today. Guess the waiting will have to continue.

Tough loss for the Gators. Had the ball 1st and goal from the 3 with under 2 minutes to go but fumbled the ball into the endzone for the touchback.

Listened to this game on the radio. Grayson gave BG one heck of a game and was not decided until early fourth qtr when BG picked up a fumbled pitch and scored giving them the deciding margin or victory. Grayson was undefeated prior to this matchup but had played a very weak schedule. I think Grayson is for real with a senior laden club. Really thought this game would have been a blowout for the Purples.

After watching BG tonight came away thinking it would be one heck of a matchup. Previously thought the birds would be a 2 to 3 touchdown favorite. Not so much now. BG's defense is extremely quick . Not sure how much Trinity was hurt offensively using their third string QB but their passing game was virtually nonexistent. BG's Kicker could be a definite difference maker in a close game. Heard Alabama was interested in his services after coming up to watch some other players. Great game but not expecting the birds to cruise to Number 20 as I had before.

BG's quarterback is 2 year starter jr. Scooter Hollis. He has really improved his passing game and throws a decent ball but will give up an interception or two when pressured. He does most of his damage running especially when his protection breaks down. He rushed for over 100 yards last week against Owensboro. If he wasn't a three sport star and played only football I think he would and may stiill be one of the best run first pass second quarterbacks in the state next year. Just a great kid . That being said, I think he may really struggle against the pressure he'll likely see from Trinity. I think Trinity will have some success on the ground but will be able to pass with relative ease against an undersized BG defensive backfield and linebackers . I'm looking for a 28-10 kind of score with BG scoring on a few big plays but struggling to put together sustained drives. Ought to be a great game and BG will get only better for playing it.

I think that sums it up nicely, at least for me.

Just saw a thread on another site that said the latest KHSAA realignments as of Friday had Boyle moving up to 5A. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Coach Spritzky can't win. Get rid of HHS and gain a Ryle, St. X, and a Trinity. Really like Tom and thought this might be his chance to make a run for a state title. think he might of been better of in 5A even with the birds in his back yard. Also was hoping he could field a few teams to keep the Purples in check over the next several years. So who will be the team to look for out of the North and East in 5A?

With HHS out of the way in 5A next year does anyone think DIXIE may be the NKY team playing for and winning state championships in the next several years? I do think Bowling Green will be there and will probably win a few in the next 5 years but still would of liked HHS to run off several more state championships if they would have stayed in 5A. Like others I think 4A is going to make it more difficult to win championships year in and year out for the birds.

I think Highlands will have a tougher time winning state championships in 4A with the likes of Boyle, Bell, Lexcath, an Lone Oak. 4A may be the toughest class top to bottom with the proposed changes.

I'm still trying to explain to my wife why I NEED to drive 3 1/2 hours to watch a high school football scrimmage. She's not buying that I have an itch for Highlands football and Dixie chili that can't be scratched here in Western KY. Guess she gets to start Friday nights alone one week early.

Purplepride, Is the Boyle co/Danville rivalry as bad as the BG/ Warren Central rivalry when you lived here? Personally I've never seen anything like IT. This year we even have one brother playing for Bg and his brother who shares the same bedroom playing for Central. Talk about crazy!! Leads to some great student chants starting with our brother's better and then going downhill from there. I personally find these KHSAA eligibility rulings somewhat comical when yous see what goes on down here. I know one familly that has three children all of which attend different schools purely for academic reasons I'm sure:confused:

Now coach Sherrill says they will play winner regardless of who it is. Must feel pretty good about his chances against the Gators.

Just said BG plays Mason Co. and Greenwood plays Davies regardless of outcome. BG just beat Davies Co. by 37.

They're pretty bitter district rivals and I don't think either coach wants either team to get too good of a feel for each other if that makes any sense. A few years ago both teams met in this tourny, 2 district games, district finals and then in the region tourny. Could happen again this year if they would play tonight.

Greenwood and Bowling Green have agreed not to play each other under any circumstance. Not sure what they will do if both BG and Gwood both lose or win.
