Dad of a DAWG

I thought at the start of the season that these two teams would meet up at the end of the year and after seeing them both play I knew they would. Now who do I think will win I think both teams are able and capable to pull it out but I have to go with Belfry. I think all around they might be the better team . But either way it will be a very good ball game . Good luck to both and hopefully the team that win's will bring back the state championship to the Mountians .:dancingpa

What kind of support are you talking about from the players families we came and supported the team at the home games and the away games we laugh and we have cried with the team just what kind of support can the families do give him money or gifts or something which is illegal that kind of stuff comes from the booster clubs and if I remember right you don't have to be a parent to be a booster member and I have been pretty close to the program and I wouldn't know what family Billy couldn't get along with oh sure they are always people that aren't happy about something but if he couldn't take a little heat from some fans then he isn't a coach because all of these coaches have been in the fire before and know how to handle that kind of stuff I think they might have been some parents that didn't like Coach Goldsmith but didn't have the nerve to take it up with him personally and they get on here and try to bad mouth him for all that's went wrong and if you would ask him he will tell you that he takes all the blame for not winning more games that takes a pretty good fellow to take that kind of heat for stuff that he never had a lot of control over . IMO the support he needed and never got was from the administration not the families we had forty some kids on the team this year and I would bet money that you wouldn't find more then five of these families that wouldn't go to war with Mr Goldsmith I know I would be proud to be standing beside him when it got started. If the community wants this program to turn around then they need to show it at the polls come election time and vote for the school board members that will get the right administration back in the system. Not just for the sports but for the academics also. That's were we can make a statement .

All in all this was a very good game it was 6-0 late in the 3rd and IMO the refs did a great job on this game for both side . But Boyd co. just out played us in the end and that's why they won this game . I hate it for the seniors to go out with a season like this has been but I am hopping and praying that we never have another season like this one was because the kids that work for December to December in the weight room and on the field deserve better . I hope things get turned around here in Louisa and we can once again put fear in the opposing teams like in the 90's but for now it's back to the drawing board and next year is a hole new season . If every one is pointing a finger at the schools that had supposedly reported this young man for breaking the transferring rules if he did ! Why isn't any one pointing at coach Matney for letting him break the rules if he did ? Seems to me that every one is looking for some one to blame for all of this when the problem could have been taken care of in house . But we have to remember were not sure if any rules have been broken because the khsaa hasn't given any ruling on this matter that I am a ware of . I just cant see why Matney would put this team at risk knowing that this might happen he should have been a little more care full I would think because he knew he already had a very good team so why jeopardize this season ?:confused:

You have to look at who LC has played the past two weeks 10-0 Brethitt Co. and 9-1 Letcher Co. I don't think boyd has played anyone of this caliber in the past 4 weeks and LC was able to move the ball really good againts both of these teams . But it will take a better effort from LC this time around when they play boyd because the first time we played them we was very sloppy I think if LC doesn't make the mistakes then they have a good chance at a repeat but these boys are going to have to want it and want it bad to beat BC. And with it being on the road makes it an up hill battle but I know my Dawgs can do it Good luck Dawgs and remember win and go on Or lose and go home . GO DAWGS :ylsuper:

Congratulations to the cougars. This is one of the nices places to play that I have seen . And the fans I talked to was just great people very classy bunch down there.And the food was just Awesome. I thought the dawgs would have done a little better but you can't take any thing for LCC they have a very good team . And I have to comment on the refs is the refs this was most likely the best called game that I have seen their wasn't a lot of flags but what few they was seemed right on the money and with the replay screen it backed up each call . Maybe every high school should have one then maybe all the refs will improve their play calling . Good luck to LCC in the play offs and as for my dawgs will we have Boyd Co next week and I'm sure they will want to get that win back that we got off them this season . IMO Boyd will be much harder to beat this time around I think we will have to be mistake free to win this one . So if you boys don't want to put your pads away just now then you better get out this week and have a great week of practice because Boyd Co. is going to be bringing it . IMO any stadium were you have to set on the same side of the field with the other teams fans just Sucks :irked:

Jude a true dawg fan I will stand beside you and support the Dawgs has long as they like you said go out and play with heart and I feel like they have in every game this year :thumb: And I still believe they can win this district I still have faith in my Dawg Family:jump:

:thumb:I would have to agree this game should be a dandy I don't know who else is playing and if I wasn't going to the LC vs LCC game this would be the one I would want to go see. And I would be afraid to say which one I would pick to win this one because I think it could go either way I guess the team with the most points will be the winner::lol::lol:

Lawrence co. will be facing yet another unbeaten team this week and IMO the #2 best team in 3A . We still have several players out with injuries and now that the grades came out I think we will have some out for that . LC will not let a kid play if they don't make the grades and I think that's a good thing . But even if we had our full team ready to go I think Brethitt Co. is just to much . After the way our kids was done last week I just hope they have enough heart to go out their and have some fun it's a long ride down to Jackson . And I hope the kids realize that the district hasn't been won by anyone yet just that the seeds have been determined the district will be decided after the second round of the play-offs . After LC plays Brethitt then they play Letcher Co Central which only has one loss on the season so it isn't going to get any easier . Then it looks like we will go up the road to Boyd Co. for the first round of the play-offs . Good luck to the Dawgs Friday night and just go out their and line it up and have some fun playing the great game of football.

The fire works was nice I like it better than the cannon my only thought on that was when your team scores then have to kick the PT the kicker still has the fire works going off that would have to be a distraction and maybe thats why he missed the pt on that end . But yes the fire works was nice for your team when they scored. :thumb:

First of all this statement has nothing to do against Greenup Co. players or fans I feel they played and cheered for every thing they had in them BUT. In all my years of being on the bluegrass preps I have never complained about any refs but I will say that if the wildcats of Kentucky had been playing at Greenup county they would not have won this game the refs made sure that GC wasn't going to loose this one . As for the coaches not saying anything about the refs in the paper well bottom line is they are not allowed to. I told the people around me at the half that they was no way LC was coming away with the win tonight. And after the half was over it went to about the middle of the 3rd quarter with out no more flags but has soon as LC took the lead it was just to obvious because the flags started flying and then the people around me started saying they knew what I meant . I think this film should be reviewed and if it shows as bad as it looked then these refs need to never be able to ref again not even in the JFL. And like I said the kids from Greenup nor their fans could control what was going on with the game so buy no means am I trying to say that they wanted this win in this manor I know I wouldn't have . The only thing I really wish for is that Greenup Co. will Beat Rowan Co. in the first round of the play offs and that LC can some how beat Boyd Co. and these two teams get the chance to do it again this time with some GOOD refs that are not byes. So good luck to Greenup on out and as for the Dawgs you know what happened last night so you have to put this behind you .Maybe take it as a lesson that life isn't all ways fare but you have to find a way to go on and make the best of it because it isn't the end of the world.

It's all ways hard to get up after a huge game like JC just had but I think they will handle Montgomery Co. I feel like JC has been cought once this year by woodford Co and I don't think Matney will let that happen agian . Can't wait to see them play woodford agian in the play-offs

Lawrence Co. has played Coal Grove , Belfry , Sheldon Clark , Prestonburg , Boyd Co. , Russell , Rowan Co. I can't remember the scores of each game but if you take out the district teams from this then I think all the rest of the teams lost record combined would total about 4 losses this schedule would have to be the toughest in the area by far . And we still have Breathitt co which is 7-0 and LCC which is 7-1 still yet to play after the Greenup co. game :eek:

If Lawrence Co. can cut down on the little mental mistakes like jumping of side when it's 3rd and short and some how get the snap to the QB with out him having to jump up in the air for it and we need to get our long snaps to the punter this is what killed us against Rowan Co. It's been the little things all season for this team . Our offense I feel has been on the verge all year of just lighting some one up we seen a sample of it against Coal Grove . The kids here on this team hasn't dropped their heads it's like they know they are better then their record shows and I for one hope that this is the week that it will all come together for them . We are missing 4 starters for this game and with a thin bench it will be hard but theirs a lot riding on this game it could be for the district championship and home field for the play offs . I know a lot of people are down on this district because all 4 teams gets into the play offs but hey they have nothing to do with how the state sets things up . So I say go out there and make the best of it and try to have some fun in the process. GO DAWGS

I look for the Lions to take this one . LC made way to many mistakes when they played Rowan if boyd plays a good game then they will take this one.

Any thoughts on this game . I know Greenup has a lot of injuries and is coming off a tuff loss to Ashland . And Lawrence Co. has several injuries also but one of these teams has got to put something together . This game will be for a first round home play-off game . I wish the Dawgs good luck and hope both teams come away with out any more injuries.
