  1. I agree with your post 100% LC has had there share of transfer's that has came here to play and now we have kids that are going other places to play but like you said all of them isn't for sports I agree about cory but the other one I think was for sports and why I say that is because of his dad . And it is makeing a big deal just because of who these kids are they both are really good player but remember last year when the stevens kid whent to Sheldon Clark they wasn't much said about that and I think he made the right move he was the man up there last year for the cards untill he got hurt I know when we played them last year he was the work horse in the back field and he had a good game that night. But on the other hand when Luke Moore whent to Boyd that's all you heard about that's just because people here thought he hurt us by tranfering well it did hurt but in my book no more then the Stevens kid did by transfering. And from what I have been told LC has two new transfer's here allready and from what I here is that these kids are real players also .Time will tell but I think LC will be just fine with the line that Billy will have this year I think even I good run the ball behind them And yes I too think we have one of the best Coaches in Eastern Ky. GO DAWGS
  2. I don't know about all the other school systems that was mention here but I know they are a few that goes to Boyd Co. but I don't know the numbers for sure but I do know of at least 3 kids that goes to boyd. As for the number of kids going to Johnson Co. I am not sure of either that's just what some one was telling me I really only know of about 3 kids that are going down there but they might be a bunch I just hope that what ever is going on here get's cleaned up in a hurry like I said it's the kids that are missing out.
  3. I am starting to think about running a bus system from Lawrence Co. to Johnson Co. for all the kids that are now going down thier. I was told that it looks like a picket line at the county line on school morning's with all the parents bringing there kids to catch the bus. I don't know what's going on here but I do know that one of these kids that has transfer to paintsville Mother is in the adminastration at LC and she has taken her kids out of LC so what does this say for are system. :madman: I just hope it all get's cleaned up before long what ever it is .I know the only ones that it hurts is the kids . Yea the sports takes a big it also but school is not about sports .
  4. Where the saying once a dawg all ways a dawg comes is from some of the saying that we use in the locker room just like the dawg family saying these kids are and will all ways be part of are family I for one will not turn my back on my family just because they won't to go down a different road then the one I go down or went down . These kids knows what the saying mean's and I am sure that part of thier heart will stay here in louisa and I know they will give it thier all were they will be going I hope they are recieved with open arm's good luck and GO DAWGS.
  5. If you think my qoute was ment to be putting these two young men down then noting could be farther from the truth .I think a lot of both these kids and I know thier parents also. If you read what I said about the Dials kid I said I think he can play any were he wont's to and at any position that was said as a good thing what I said about his grades is also true I think he can play at the D-1 level if he works really hard at it but the class work has to come first because I don't care if you are the best kid in the state you will not play the next level with out the grades. If thats why he left then I hope he can be successful in the class room because I know he will be on the field but I still think that you wont find any better coaches then what we have right here in Louisa. It's just that when I saw this about them leaveing it really broke my heart I have watched these kids play together sence they were 5 years old my son is just a couple of years behind them and I just hate to see whats happening here I didn't even know that they were more that had left ??? I just hope we have enough to have a football team next year . If we do I know that Billy will have them ready. I just hope that Tim Hayes isn't one that has left because I think he did a real good job at JV last year as a QB if he's gone it looks like we might have a freshman Qb with the name of Boone.I hope he doesn't have to for at least another year or so . But with all that said I just hope that they all have a lot of fun in the game of football because that's all it is it's a game . And I will cheer for Paintsville all next year and I will hope that Cetral has a soild year with maybe one loss and that's when they come to Louisa. What will be odd is seeing Keith on the other side of the field after watching him play for and help out this program for year's to me that will be more odder to see then old Jake dressed in black and gold because he wore those colors in the middle school program so Good Luck to both Humphrey & Dials and remember once a DAWG all ways a DAWG .
  6. I will agree with most of your post all but the last part . Not all the kids here have turned there back on LC we have some kids here that wont back down from a challenge and that's what we have here these kids that are leaveing might think they will find a easy road a head but were they are going the will still have to work . I hate it with all my heart to see these young men go but if they don't wont to be here or if thier parents doesn't wont them here then they need to leave just like Luke Moore did I wish the best for them I just hope it's the right thing for the kids and Good Luck with the KHSAA
  7. Lawrence Co. played Greenup in the last game of the regular season and I was impressed with them they started all most all freshman and sophmore and to be truthful about it I think they should have won that game LC was pitiful in that game .So I think GC will do just fine next year at lest I haven't heard of any of thier kids leaveing to go and play for another school !!!!
  8. Why would Humphery transfer he was the starting qb and was looking to have a big season next year if he goes to paintsville he will have to fight really hard for playing time peirod. As for the Dials kid he just needs to do hit his school books this kid can play any were but his grades will keep him from the next level unless he get's after it in the class room and if he can't make the grades at LC how in the world does his parents think he can at Central .His dad said he will have a better chance at a scholarship at Central I would like to see a list of kids that Matney has sent to the next level compared to the staff at LC???
  9. What about this what if Lawrence Co. had two high schools maybe a 1-a and one 2-a high school???? What people need to look at is Lawrence Co. is the third largest county in the state and the high school is all the way on one end of the county some kids have to ride a school bus for more than two hours just to get to school so you can just guess way a lot of kids don't play sports when you have to practice for two and a half hour's then drive for another hour to get home well that make's it hard I know because that's what I had to do when I played for LC. Kids that live close to thier schools can practice for a couple of hours and still have time to do other things like go to Church or a movie or maybe go and see thier girl friend or maybe try and find one any way's . Where the kids in LC that live way out they might have time to get home after practice and eat thier supper and maybe do thier home work if they will . All I am saying is that LC has a lot of huddles to cross .But I think they do just fine were they are I would like to know how many varisty teams in the state in 2-a and 3-a that just dressed 20 some kids out and was still competitive.
  10. Lawrence Co. Has a program for any one that want's to lift we have several 7th & 8th graders lifting right now they lift with the varsity .The coaches just try to keep the kids in groups according to their Strength. LC has a great wieght room and they started lifting the week after the Bell Co. game it wasn't mandatory they just opened the wieght room up for any one that wonted to lift we have had about 25 to 30 kids lifting mostly under class men . If the seniors to be don't get out and work they might just get passed up like a freight train going by because these young men are working very very hard and they also are doing alot of running and are getting in very good shape . Like I tell my son it's money in the bank just make a deposit now and you will be able to draw it out in the hot July heat. Keep up the good work young Dawgs and you old Dawgs better start getting with it or it might be a long year.
  11. Ashland has enough coming back to were they should be the pick to win the District agian. I know the Ashland Daily will for sure pick them but I think Johnson Central might have something to say about it.
  12. I hope they are a week late in the season before they put it all together after that I hope they can win them all . Last year when are JV team went up thier to play theirs I got the chance to go trough thier wieght room after seeing what those kids have to work with then set back and watch what a good season they had well my heart goes out for that team .I would love to see some of those coal company's take some interest in SC football program like they did at Belfy I was just amazed with how little they had and still be so good .Their wieght room reminded me of are's when I played for Lawrence Co. back in the early 80's. Good luck Cards in 06.
  13. I look for Lawrence to be right in the mix of things next season . I think they will have a much improved line and the schedule is a good one but it's a big step down from last year's. I look for LC to make the playoff's but I don't think they will go very deep maybe one win or at best two win's in the play offs. Last year I keeped looking for us to really upset some one this year I think every body will be looking for us and it will be even harder to get the Win's I will pull for the dawgs all the way I win lose or draw GO DAWGS! :ylsuper:
  14. Well like I said before the old rumor mill get's granked up every year .But they have been a couple of kids that said they will not play next year for different reason's .I have talked to them alot to try and get them to come back and play . I just hope some time off with the off season will change their minds most of these kids are out of the sophmore class soon to be juniors I think this is the most talented group of kids that has came up trough LC in a long time but they are droping like flys .We had about 30 of them as 8th graders ended the freshman year with about 20 and this year as 10th graders they was only about 14 to 16 kids out of that group . And what I was talking about 20 some varsity players is that's all we had this year we had around 28 varsity player's and that's it we had around 18 freshman .So when you play in 3-A you just get wore down. Most 3-A programs will field around 50 to 60 kids that's 10 11 & 12 grader's This year LC was in every game except the JC game we was able to play around 3 good quarters with any body but we would just get wore down . And I think we played the hardest schdule in the area .
  15. well a few people have gave their prediction and I know it's way to soon to be doing this but here's how I think it might turn out for LC I hope it's A lot better then I am going to predict but here's my prediction for 06 Aug - 18th @ Sheldon Clark W Aug - 25th @ Coal Grove (OH) W Sept- 1st Belfry L Sept- 8th @ Pike Co Centra W Sept- 15th Johnson Central L Sept- 22nd Breathitt Co. W Sept- 29th OPEN Oct - 6th @ Boyd Co. W Oct - 13th @ Ashland L Oct - 20th @ Mason Co. L Oct - 27th Greenup Co. W I really think it can be better then 6-4 but it will all come's down to how many kids comes out and plays next year it's really hard to play in 3-A with only 20 some varsity players . I realize that it could end up a lot worse then 6-4 but I am thinking around a 500 season but I am hopping for a lot better .Go DAWGS
  16. I couldn't agree more :thumb: I was at the camp that day and saw alot of young men thier that brought back a lot of memories it was a good camp for the young dawgs of Louisa. And I for one would love to see it every year .
  17. Lawernce Co. Open's the 06 season with Sheldon Clark Thier hole Schedule is on another post . Thier second game is with Coal Grove.
  18. Seems like the old rumor mill starts up every year about this time . I have heard that might be the case on the dials kids I think most of this comes from his dad I know last year he was thinking about sending him to Boyd Co. But they decided to keep him at LC. And I for one am glad I think alot of this young man and I would hate to see him in another uniform on Friday nights I know his dad is just wonting the best for him but I don't think he will find any better coaches that will do more for him then what we have right here in Louisa. The Dials kid will have a chance to maybe play at the next level if he stays healthy and works hard on and off the field and in the class rooms. I wish the best for him I know he can play Football like I said before he's a keeper. He does play tight end and LB but this kid can play any were that is needed the last couple of games LC had this year Billy put him on the D-line and nobody could handle him he's a real player.
  19. I would love to see the DAWGS end up 7-3 at the end of the regular and I think it is very possible. Last year LC basically played a JV team on Friday nights I think they started around 8 or 9 sophmores if these kids all come back and play next year they should be able to achieve that record of 7-3 .They will have an experience QB and if Tim Hayes come's back and plays they will have an outstanding back up and also a real good tight end and linebacker in this young man. And it will have alot to do if the Dials kid makes his mind up to stay at LC this young man will be a force on both sides of the ball . I hope he desides to stay here and play with the same kids he has been with sence he was five years old. And I think we will have one of the best fullbacks in the area in Coty Roberts I also think that are line will be alot better then we had last year .And the secondary LC put's on the field should be second to none alot of experience comeing back . And I also think that if Morgan Roberts run's the ball like he did at the end of the season this year he will be up thier with some of the great RB's that has came through LC. Good luck to all the Dawg family and I am just hopeing that these kids will stay together and get are program back to were it was in the 90's. :thumb:
