  1. 1998-1999 Harlan Green Dragons. Beating Pikeville pretty badly in first half, in the second half, the starting tailback (Ben Smith) broke his leg. Pikeville went on to win, then got beat by the "University of Beechwood", as anyother mountain team.
  2. Wow! Good luck to the panthers. As good as they are I still don't see an upset, but this would be either a good, or fun game to watch.
  3. Cumberland runs a wing-t that looks like a single back formation, with two wing backs usually place to the outside and behind the tight ends. The only problem with that is that you need fast guards who can get to their blocks quickly and a good center who can engage the nose guard.
  4. :thumb: I understand what you're saying. Lundy has great field vision though and also clocked a 4.68 forty time. Luttrell on the other hand, I do not know much about. I know his father (John) was a freakish athlete.
  5. How will the teams in the county end up this year? (Harlan, Cawood, Evarts, and Cumberland.) All teams are returning good athletes. Please post any comments or predictions.:ylsuper:
  6. With all the possible football camps in Kentucky and surrounding areas, sometimes athletes aren't given enough information about these camps, so I was thinking that a "camp" section could be added to the website, remember its just a suggestion.:thumb:
  7. Hunter Luttrell- Harlan High School. Transfered from South Oldham during the school year. Also Jon Lundy who played quarterback his freshman, sophomore, and junior season will see time at both places.
  8. Why aren't the state title games played at Commonwealth Stadium. I like it a lot better, but I'm just wondering why Papa John's?
  9. I'm not sure about Lutrell's stats, however he'll be in my grade (junior) this upcoming season. And as far as the Coach Perry question, the story I've heared is that he is going back to school to receive his master's degree I think, but he will still analyze the film with the coaches on the weekend and prepare a defensive game plan on the weekends, however Coach Shope will also be assisting in that and will be there to call the shots. Back to Lutrell, through our weighlifting and agility exercises, he hasn't "maxed-out" with us yet, but his reps on bench, clean, and squat are pretty strong from what I can tell. He's very fast and cuts very well! If I were guessing he's probably around a 4.6 forty? He's got the pedigree to be an excellent player.
  10. Harlan's Chase Jones (6'2 170lbs) has excellent height and is unbelievebly accurate. He should have a break out season especially with Will Pope as a target.
  11. LC, I don't know if you remember John Lutrell who played for Harlan years back, but his son Hunter Lutrell (a transfer from South Oldham) will probably be seeing time at running back and linebacker this season. He comes from a great pedigree of athletes so only time will tell on how he will help our team. Personally I would rank us above Williamsburgh just for the simple fact of the lines. We return every starter on our Offensive Line and only lost one senior on our Defensive Line. They have a wonderful set of skilled positions, but the "fat boys" up front are the ones who win games. But I believe we should give "the camp" a much better showing than we did this past season..lol. However, We also have a great skilled unit returning, considering the fact we only lost 5 seniors. Do you know how many on Lynn Camp's offensive line are returning?
  12. Harlan's Jake Anderson last season put up around 700 lbs on squat, i think the highest he got was 670?
  13. Does anybody have a pic of what Saint Xavier's rings looked like last year?
  14. Any thoughts on who will be the top team in this district? Harlan returns about 13-14 senoirs with a very experienced line on both sides of the ball. :thumb:
  15. Everbody else is posting pictures of their rings, I'm the sure the shamrocks spare no expense when purchasing theirs. Any pics?
  16. Sorry then. I got invited to some bowl then.
  17. I got invited my freshmen season and this season, I just didn't go because of the price!:scared:
  18. Harlan v.s. Cawood is always a great season opening game! Not as big of teams as LexCath v.s. St.X, but a good small-town, hard-hitting game.:fight:
  19. Who do you think in Harlan's history would best fill these positions: QB: Steven Brock, J.B. Donahue RB: Frank Shope, T.J. Dunson, Jamie Jacobs WR: TE: OL: Jonathan Lee, Timbo Noe, Jake Anderson DL: Jake Anderson LB: Todd Maggard, Frank Shope CB: FS/SS: K/P: :thumb:
  20. Some of our strongest players lifting right now are: Bench Clean Squat We don't max on deadlift Derek Stevenson-LB-250 -----235-----Didn't max Aaron Jones-OL DL--230------225-----410 Jonathan Heck FB LB-230-----225------410 (P.S. On squat we go parallel, we don't touch a box!)
