I still think that Hester us much quicker and can finish to the basket a lot better than Neeley can. Neeley may have a better shot but i think Hester is a better point guard. But hands down the two best players in the region.

Neely is good but he doesnt really play good teams night in and night out that Hester plays. I would love to see these two square off in a game but until then all we know is they are both fine players. Who knows Hester may never be the old mike since his surgery 4 weeks ago.

That 2003 St. Henry section was pretty crazy. In the 3 games SK played them (all great games, all SK losses =[), the respective student sections went at it. That regional championship was awesome to see. St. Henry won by 5, but it was tied until under 2 to go. I believe the Cru' lost to Mason County by 2 that year, and they went on to win state if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think you can determine the best student section ever. Every year there are quality student sections that can compete, but nobody gets to watch every team.

With how Gallatin played tonight i look for them to be the favorite in everbody's eyes

Games just don't seem to be as exciting without Mike in there. His crossover is one of the bests I've ever seen, and is worth the admission price. Ponzer is a solid guard, with good shooting ability, he just has been off all season. Should be a good game though.

I have a handfull of chants that will get me suspended if i post them on here. O and the "where's your tractor" chant is completely unfunny.

I may be wrong, as I was not there - but I would venture to say that CovCath still had the more talented student section, but you're at quite a disadvantage when losing by 20.

I don't get why we're still talking about Shelby last year. It's a completely different team, that's like saying if the 49ers could do to the Bengals what they did in '89, then they'll beat them the next time they play. It's going to be hard to stop Hester this year, a very tedious task if at full strength, for almost anybody.

I agree that Hester is EASILY the best player on the floor in this game. But I think Wade's jumping abilities could be what make him the best athlete. Athleticism has nothing to do with talent IMO. And there aren't too many people that can get up there with him.

It should be a closer game than before and yes Neely will be the best player on the court when these two teams play. Too quick for Walton guards.

Walton cannot compete with teams such as BB, UHA, June Buchanon. Walton has to get past a very hot Gallatin team right now who is playing extremely well. Walton will not make it out of the 8th.

I think the best athlete on the floor will be Wade, I don't see much of a comparison with that. But Hester will definitely be the most talented player on the court. He's gained a year's experience, and Shelby has lost a lot. If Simon Kenton plays to their ability, they will make it to Rupp.

I get what you're saying. But it seems unlikely to me. This is a game to build upon for the Pioneers. A lot of people thought Clark would win by as many as they wanted, it wasn't so.

There's no point to this question. Year in and year out, it's Covington Catholic. There've been times when I've seen them lose battles, but over the course of a season, nobody competes.

Didn't see the game, but it sounds like if Hester's in the game, it's around a 5 point victory for SK. He tends to have that affect. Simon Kenton will be making a lot of noise this year.

Abney was drafted by the ravens in the 6th or 7th round. Didn't see much of him though.

Got the book for christmas and recently finished it. Great great story. I really didn't think there would be so much to the story, but it was great. The thing that might keep this story from being a movie is might be the We Are Marshall movie. It is similar, but who knows. One thing that came to mind while I was reading the book is how Tweeter from Varsity Blues, and Greg Ponzer seem to be the exact same person. Insert Greg Ponzer from this quote from Varsity Blues, "And Tweeter drank some beers, because, well, Tweeter drinks beers."

Walton would have to be hitting even better than Scott was. And SK would have to come out flatter than they did against Scott. Scott put in some crazy shots that game, they definitely came to play. That game will be fresh in my mind for awhile. I personally think it was a more important win than the Holmes win.
